PS4: Managing your games and apps

Find out how to organise the content in your PlayStation 4 library.

System software update 5.50 added some extra functions to help you keep your content tidy. This article explains how these features work.

You can now place your games and apps in folders and organise them any way you like. This will help keep your Library and Content Launcher tidy.

To create a folder:

  1. From the Content Launcher or [Library], highlight a game you want to place in a folder. Press the Options button on your DualShock 4 Controller and select [Add to Folder].
  1. Select [Add to New Folder] or [Add to Existing Folder].
  2. Name your folder and choose [Select] to add other content.
  1. Your new folder will appear on the Content Launcher. A maximum of three titles is shown within a folder icon.

You can add additional games, change the folder name and the order of the games listed by highlighting the folder, pressing the Options button on the DualShock 4 Controller and selecting 'Edit Folder'.

Your Library is divided into a number of sub categories to make it easier to find content:

  • You can filter your library results by pressing  [Triangle button] and selecting from ‘Sorting’ options.
  • Any application downloaded to the PS4 system is shown under the ‘This PS4’ tab. This includes content owned by other users on the system, so you may find locked content listed here as well.
  • Anything you have bought from PlayStation Store can be found under the 'Purchased' tab. Content in this section is divided into installed / non-installed content. If you would like to remove an application from the 'Purchased' tab, highlight the content, press the Options button and select ‘Do Not Show Content Item in [Purchased]’.
  • Free games from PlayStation Plus will also appear in the ‘PlayStation Plus’ tab.
