How to troubleshoot broadcast issues on PlayStation consoles

Learn how to troubleshoot broadcast issues on PlayStation®5 consoles and PlayStation®4 consoles.

Can’t start a broadcast on your PS5 console?

  1. Check the PSN status page. If you see any alerts, wait until the service is back online and try again.
  1. Make sure you're running the latest system software on your PS5® console.
  1. Go to Settings > Network > Connection Status and select Test Internet Connection. If you’re having internet issues, check the guide below for troubleshooting steps.
  1. Unlink the broadcast service from your account and link it again.
  1. Restore licenses on your PS5 console.
  1. Enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on your PS5 console. If it’s already enabled, disable Console Sharing and Offline Play on your PS5 console and then enable it again.

  1. Turn on your PS5 console in Safe Mode, then select Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.

  • Child accounts can’t broadcast on PlayStation consoles.

  1. Go to Settings > Network and select Test Internet Connection. If you’re having internet issues, check the guide below for troubleshooting steps.
  1. Unlink the broadcast service from your account and link it again.
  1. Restore licenses on your PS4 console.
  1. Activate the PS4 console as your primary PS4 console.

    If it’s already activated, deactivate the PS4 console and reactivate it again.

  1. Turn on your PS4 console in Safe Mode, and then select Rebuild Database.
  • Child accounts can’t broadcast on PlayStation consoles.

Can’t start a YouTube broadcast?

To access some features including broadcast on YouTube, you may need to verify your YouTube account with your phone or email address.

If you’re stuck on verification while starting your YouTube broadcast, try the steps below.

  1. Go to YouTube on a web browser and log in to the same account you’ve linked on your console.
  2. Start live streaming on your YouTube account.
  3. Go back to your console and start a broadcast again.
  • If you’re still having issues, unlink YouTube from your account and link it again.
