How to set up "Require Password at Checkout" on PlayStation Store

Turning on Require Password at Checkout adds an extra layer of security when making purchases from PlayStation Store.

How to enable "Require Password at Checkout" online

  1. Sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.
  2. Turn on Require Password at Checkout.
    The password screen appears whenever you make a purchase. Enter the password you use to sign in.
  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
  2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Purchase Settings.
  3. Turn on Require Password at Checkout.
    The password screen appears whenever you make a purchase. Enter the password you use to sign in.
  1. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information.
  2. Select Wallet. You may need to sign in again.
  3. Select Purchase Settings > Require Password for Purchases > Yes.

  1. Select the PlayStation Store icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the menu icon from the top right of the screen and select Payment Methods.
  3. Turn on Require Password at Checkout.
    The password screen appears whenever you make a purchase. Enter the password you use to sign in.
  • Require Password at Checkout applies to all devices used to access PlayStation Store.
  • This password requirement does not apply to child accounts. To prevent purchases on child accounts, make sure their spending limits are set to 0.
  • This password requirement does not apply when you fund your wallet.
