PS4: PlayStation Plus Online Storage

How to upload saves

If Auto-Upload isn’t switched on or you want to upload a save from a temporarily activated PS4 you need to do this manually.

Select your local user and go to [Settings] > [Application Data Management] > [Saved Data in System] > [Upload to Online Storage].

  • You can also press [Options] on the title from the content area to access [Upload/Download Saved Data]

Why online storage is useful

With online storage, you can save your progress on one system and then continue on another later on. You can save up to 10GB of game save data.

  • Picking up play on a friend’s system

If you sign into PSN on a friend’s PS4 you can pick up from the last save on your PS4. Don’t forget to manually upload your saves as they won’t upload automatically from your friend’s PS4.

  • PS4 upgrade/replacement

If you get a new PS4, just sign in to PlayStation Network and download your game save data.

  • Crossplay games

These games can be downloaded and played on more than one type of PlayStation system. For example, if a game is compatible with both PS4 and PS Vita, you can start play at home on your PS4 and continue later on your PS Vita.

  • PlayStation Now

If you subscribe to PlayStation Now and pick up a game that you previously played on PS3, you can start from the last point you saved to online storage. For information about using online storage with PlayStation Now see the dedicated PlayStation Now article.
