Save and transfer PlayStation Plus game progress

Find out how to save games when streaming PlayStation®Plus games, and how to transfer saves between streamed and downloaded games.

How do PlayStation Plus saves work?

PlayStation Plus saved data works differently depending on whether you are streaming or playing a downloaded game.

  • If you're streaming a PlayStation Plus game, the saved data is stored on PlayStation.
You can pick up your stream on another device and continue your game without taking any other steps.
  • If you're playing a downloaded PlayStation Plus game, the saved data is saved to the console storage of your PS5® console or PS4™ console.

Saved data is not automatically transferred between streamed and downloaded games, but you can transfer saved data using PlayStation Plus cloud storage. To transfer saved data between game types, upload the saved data to cloud/online storage and then download it to your device.
