How to report inappropriate behavior on PlayStation®5 consoles

Find out how to report inappropriate content and conversations on a PS5™ console and what steps we take when you send us a report.

When should I make a report on a PS5™ console?

Report content or conversations that breach the Community Code of Conduct. If the Code of Conduct has not been broken but you don’t want to interact with a player, you can block them.

Reporting with the intention to harass another player is a breach of the Code of Conduct and may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of your account.

What happens when I make a report on a PS5 console?

Moderators review reports and decide whether the Code of Conduct has been broken. If it does, we remove any content and take appropriate action against the player.

How to report on a PS5 console

Always report the specific piece of content you think breaches the Code of Conduct, such as the offensive message, rather than the player's online ID. When the content has been shared within a game, be sure to use that game’s reporting function.

On PS5, you can report:

  • Something in a player's profile

  • Screenshots and videos

  • Broadcasts and broadcast comments

  • A Game Base group name, icon, or chat message

  • Something said in a conversation

  • Select More > Report and the reason for your report.
  • Highlight the message, press the options button, and then select Report

  1. Press the PS button to go to the control center > select the voice chat card where the conversation took place.
  2. Select More > Report and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll be able to report a 20-second clip of the last 5 minutes of talking.
  3. When prompted to select the player causing offense, select I'm Unsure if you don't know who was talking at the time.
