    All games? One game? Changed settings in-game? Damaged controller? Have you had it apart?

    It may just require a reset;

    1. Turn off the PlayStation 4.
    2. Locate the small reset button on the back of the DualShock 4 near the L2 shoulder button.

    3. Use a small, unfolded paper-clip or something similar to push the button (the button is inside a tiny hole). Hold the button down for a couple of seconds and release.
    4. After resetting the controller, re-pair the controller with the PS4 by connecting the USB cable to the controller and the system, and turn the PS4 on.
    5. Press the PS button to log in to the PS4.
    6. If pushing the PS button is not responsive, try another USB port on the console

    I also have the same issue with the new controller that came with the PS4 Pro. My old controller from the standard Ps4 works fine. I don't want to go spend money on a new controller if this is the issue with these new model controllers. I've tried resetting it a number of times but it continues to make my character walk forward. How do I fix this so that the damn L2 button isn't mapped to forward?

    Me too! Original DS4 fine and New Pro one walks forward/moves up when pressing L2. Also the left thumb stick is dodgy when pressing forward (up)...

    It doesn't help, I don't know what to do, it is a new controller. I don't even want to play anymore because of it

    Then maybe the problem is with the ps4 instead?

    Try Option 5 in safe mode (press and hold the power button the the PS4 until you hear a second beep then release)

    I will try this later. Odd problem though as my old DS4 is perfect.

    If it's only one controller, there's a higher chance of it being the controller, if it's showing the same error over multiple (ok, 2 in this case) controllers, and one is new,then  there's a greater chance the fault might be with a common factor,ie the console.

    There again, you could just be unlucky and have 2 controllers with the same fault. It's just a less likely scenario.
