PS4: Remote Play general troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve issues with Remote Play.

 
 

Here are some initial steps that can improve the Remote Play experience:

  • Check the network connection

PlayStation 4 System

  • Go to [Settings] > [Network] > [Test Network Connection]
  • Minimum required connection speed is 5Mbps for both upload and download.
  • The network may be temporarily unavailable. Check your network connection and retry. If the error keeps occurring, check the PSN service status; https://status.playstation.com/.

Computer

  • Check the network settings on the computer.
  • Open a web browser and load a web page to make sure it is connected.
  • Make sure the network NAT type is Type 2 or less. This can be done by launching the PS4 Remote Play application, then click [Settings] and choose the [Information] tab.
  • Manually register the PS4 Remote application to the desired PlayStation 4 system. Refer to PS4: Remote Play for PC and Mac to learn how.
  • Relaunch the Remote Play application on your computer

Close Remote Play app by selecting Close button, then restart.

  • Reboot the computer

Reboot the computer, then start the Remote Play app.

  • Uninstall Remote Play application, and then re-install.

Windows

In Control Panel, click [Programs and Features], and then uninstall [PS4 Remote Play].

Mac

Drag [PS4 Remote Play] from the Applications folder to the Trash. Then choose Finder > [Empty Trash].

88010E0F The anti-virus software on your computer may be blocking the PS4 from communicating with your computer. Try disabling the firewall settings on your antivirus software, or adding Remote Play application to the firewall program exceptions.
