Epic Quality and Limitless Entertainment on Sony Pictures Core

SONY PICTURES CORE is an entertainment app for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles where you can rent, buy, or stream movies.

There are three ways to watch movies on SONY PICTURES CORE, but each begins with launching the app and creating an account.

Once signed into your account, you can select a movie, TV show, or other content by clicking on the artwork, and from there you will have the option to rent, buy or (in some cases) instantly stream the content:

1. When renting a movie, you will have 30 days to initiate playback and 48 hours to finish the movie after pressing play.
2. When buying a movie, it will be added to your Library, and you’ll be able to access that movie as many times as you like when signed into your account on SONY PICTURES CORE.
3. If the movie is part of a streaming package included with a PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe subscription or other streaming offer, you will be able to watch (stream) at no additional cost.  

No, you don’t need to be a Plus member to buy or rent movies from SONY PICTURES CORE, but active PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members will have access to exclusive benefits not available to everyone else.

It’s free to sign up for an account. Once you’ve created your account in the app, you can buy or rent movies. You may be eligible for additional content based on your active PS Plus Premium/Deluxe subscription.

Depending on the country in which you’ve created your account, you can choose from up to 2,000 Sony movies to buy or rent.  Availability varies by territory. 

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age by which you can legally enter into contracts under the law of your jurisdiction, to create an account, view content, and complete transactions on the app.

Sony Movie Credits will allow SONY PICTURES CORE users on eligible PlayStations to claim credit(s) within the SONY PICTURES CORE application that can be used to redeem for movies.

Users who purchase an eligible device or participate in an eligible promotion can qualify for movie credits. Your eligibility for and use of Movie Credits is subject to the terms of any applicable promotion and the Sony Picture Core terms found here: https://www.sonypicturescore.com/termsofservice/EN/CA.

Note: If you think that you are entitled to credits and have not received credit(s), please reach out to our Customer Service team.

Users who participate in an eligible promotion will receive their credits in one of the following ways:

1. For most offers, credits will automatically be added to your account. Upon opening the SONY PICTURES CORE app for the first time after earning credits, you’ll receive a notification pop-up confirming that your credits have been added.
2. For other offers, when specified, a credit voucher code will be emailed to your SONY PICTURES CORE associated email. Navigate to account settings in the app and, under the “Redeem Voucher” tab, enter the voucher code found in your email.

Note: Once credits are claimed or added, the number of credits will be visible within the ticket icon in the bottom left corner of the application.

To use movie credits, navigate to the movie you want to redeem and select the REDEEM button.

Credit balance will be shown within the movie ticket icon at the bottom of the left navigation menu.

If a  refund is issued for an item purchased as part of a promotion that awards movie credits, the associated credits will be removed alongside the refunded item.
