PlayStation® Tournaments: Open Series

PlayStation Tournaments: Open Series is PlayStation's official online tournament where you can register and participate on your PlayStation 4 at home. All you need is a PlayStation Plus subscription*, an available game title, and an online environment to enjoy the eSports experience.

How to register for a tournament

STEP.1：Select (Event) from the home screen.

STEP.2：Select "Tournaments" and choose the tournament you want to participate in.

STEP.3：If you do not have an ESL account or have not linked it to your PSN account, your browser will launch here. If you have already linked your account, please refer to STEP.4 onwards.

STEP.3-1：If you do not have an ESL account, select [Register with PlayStation Network] at the bottom of the screen.

STEP.3-2：After you create an ESL account and agree to the access authorization, your PSN account will be linked to your ESL account.
*When you create an ESL account, you will receive an email from PlayStation Network asking you to set a password.

STEP.3-3 (Supplement): You can also link your account from (Settings) > [Account Management] > [Link with Other Services]

STEP.4：Press OK on the registration screen to complete the registration.

*If you check the "Automatically join at the start date and time" checkbox and set your PS4 console to standby mode, it will automatically turn on and the game will start automatically.

Registered competitions will be listed under "My Events" in the event menu, and you can also unregister from there.

On the day of the tournament

The following is a typical example of tournament progression using "Tekken 7". The details differ for each title, so please check the respective "Quick Rules".

STEP.5：You will receive a notification when the starting time of the tournament approaches, so please check-in through PS button or [Event] > [My Event] menu.

STEP.6：You will receive another notification when it is time for the game you want to participate in, so check the  [Event] screen and press [Join Now].

STEP.7：You will be automatically transferred to the match lobby, so create a session and play the competition.

STEP.8：After the match, the result will be automatically determined / reported. You can check the results from [Event] screen.
