Connect

The first time you use a DualSense® wireless controller, you'll need to pair it with your console.

  1. Make sure that your PS5® console is on.
  2. Connect the controller to your console using the included USB cable.
  3. If your controller is turned off, press the PS button. After the light bar blinks, the player indicator lights up.
  • When your controller has enough battery life, you can disconnect the USB cable and use your controller wirelessly.
  • Please note, your controller can pair with only one PS5 console at a time. When you want to use your controller on another console, you'll need to pair it with that console.  You can use up to 4 controllers at the same time.   • The adaptive triggers feature is available when supported by the game. It isn’t compatible with Android-based mobile devices.

  • The built-in microphone and speaker are available on Windows PC when supported by the game. They aren’t compatible with Mac and mobile devices.

Aktiviere den Kopplungsmodus, um deinen Wireless-Controller zum ersten Mal mit einem unterstützten Gerät zu koppeln:

  1. Make sure the player indicator on the controller is off.

Your controller can be paired with only one device at a time. Each time you change devices, you must pair the controller with the new device.

Update

DualSense wireless controller device software updates are added when you update your PS5 console system software. Pair your controller and follow the on-screen instructions to update.

To start an update manually:

Fehlersuche

Personalisieren

The DualSense Edge™ wireless controller comes with standard, high-dome, and low-dome caps. Choose a stick cap type that best fits your play style.

  1. Pull up on the stick cap that is attached to your controller.
    The cap lifts away.
  2. Align your chosen cap type with the stick and push down to secure.

The half-dome back buttons are interchangeable.

  1. Insert the half-dome back buttons into the back button slots.

Make using your DualSense Edge wireless controller easier for you by changing the button assignments.

  1. Go to Settings > Accessories.
  2. Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.
  3. Select Create Custom Profile, enter a name for your custom profile, then select OK.
  4. Select Customize Button Assignments.
  5. Select the button you want to change and then select the function you want to assign to it.
    If you select Disable, pressing the button won't have an input.
  6. Select Apply.

Adjust the sensitivity and deadzone of the sticks on your DualSense Edge wireless controller.

  1. Go to Settings > Accessories.

  2. Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.

  3. Select Create Custom Profile, enter a name for your custom profile, then select OK.

  4. Select Stick Sensitivity/Deadzone.

  5. Use the directional keys to select the items you want to change.

With PlayStation Accessories, you can do things like update the controller firmware and customize controller settings from your Windows PC.

Profiles

You can save stick sensitivity, custom button assignments, vibration intensity, and more to custom profiles.

  1. Go to Settings > Accessories
  2. Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles
  3. Select Create Custom Profile, enter a name for your custom profile, then select OK
  4. Select an item to customize.

Assign profile shortcuts so you can switch to them during gameplay and use them on other PS5 consoles.

Access shortcuts by holding down the Fn button and then pressing an action button (triangle button, circle button, cross button, or square button).

The profile assigned to the Fn button and the triangle button shortcut is the default profile and can’t be changed. You can assign profiles you’ve made to the other three shortcuts.

  1. Go to Settings > Accessories.

  2. Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller > Custom Profiles.

  3. Go to the Unassigned Profiles tab and select Assign next to the profile you want to assign.

  4. Select a shortcut.
    If there's already a profile assigned to the shortcut, that profile's name appears. If you assign the profile, the previous profile is overwritten.

  5. Use the shortcut to change your profile.

With PlayStation Accessories, you can do things like update the controller firmware and customize controller settings from your Windows PC.

Troubleshoot

If a stick module doesn’t work properly or stops working, you can replace it with a new stick module (sold separately). Left and right stick modules are interchangeable and can be attached to either side.

  1. Make sure the player indicator on the controller is off.
    If the player indicator is on, press and hold the PS button until it turns off.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the controller.
  3. Remove the front cover.
    Slide the RELEASE latch on the back of your controller to remove the cover.
  1. Raise the release lever.
  1. Remove the stick module and attach a new stick module.
    Make sure that the stick module is positioned correctly, and then slide the module along the grooves of the controller until you hear a click.
  1. Lower the release lever.
  1. Attach the front cover.
    Align the raised parts of the cover with the notches on the controller, and then carefully push the cover into place until you hear a click.

If you’re having issues with your controller, often the first troubleshooting step is to reset your controller. Resetting won’t reconfigure your controller or affect pairing and profile settings.

  1. Turn off your PS5 console.
  2. Locate the small reset button on the back of the controller.
  3. Use a pin or similar tool (not included) to press the reset button.
    This will not reconfigure the controller or affect pairing and profile settings.
  4. Connect the controller to your PlayStation®5 console using the USB cable that came with your controller, and press the PS button.

If you’ve tried resetting your controller and are still having issues, please select an issue from the options below.

DualSense Edge wireless controller software updates are added when you update your PS5 console system software.

To check for DualSense Edge wireless controller software updates:

  1. Go to Settings > Accessories > DualSense Edge Wireless Controller.
  2. Select DualSense Edge Wireless Controller Device Software to update the wireless controller device software.

Connect

  1. Make sure that your console is on.
  2. Connect DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller to your console using the included USB cable.

  • When your controller has enough battery life, you can disconnect the USB cable and use your controller wirelessly. 
  • Please note, your controller can pair with only one console at a time. When you want to use your controller on another console, you'll need to pair it with that console.
  • You can use up to 4 controllers at the same time. When you press the PS button, a color is assigned to each player. 
  • If you’re having issues pairing your controller with your console, please visit PlayStation Repairs.

Pair with other devices

To pair your wireless controller with a supported device using Bluetooth for the first time, turn on pairing mode.

  1. Make sure the player indicator on the controller is off. If the player indicator is on, press and hold the PS button until it turns off. If a USB is connected to the controller, disconnect it. 
  2. While pressing and holding the SHARE button, press and hold the PS Button until the light bar flashes.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your device, and then select the controller from the list of Bluetooth devices. When pairing is complete, the light bar blinks, and then the player indicator lights up.

You'll take the following steps each time you connect to your PS5 console or PS4 console from your PC or Mac.

  1. Turn on your console or put it into rest mode. 
  2. Connect your controller to your PC or Mac. 
  3. Launch PS Remote Play app on your PC or Mac, and then select Sign In to PSN.
    Sign in with the same account that you use for your console. 
  4. When you select Settings, you can configure video quality settings for Remote Play such as resolution and frame rate. 
  5. Select PS5 or PS4.
    The app searches for the PS5 console or PS4 console that you’ve signed in to using your account, and then connects to the console automatically. After the app connects, the screen of your console displays on your PC or Mac and you can start using Remote Play. If multiple consoles are found, select the console that you'd like to use. 

From the second time onwards, you'll be able to select the console that you connected to previously. 

If your console cannot connect to your computer automatically, you will be asked to manually register the console on your PC or Mac.

Troubleshoot

  1. Turn off and unplug your PS4 console. 
  2. Locate the small reset button on the back of the controller near the L2 button.
  3. Use a small tool to push the button inside the tiny hole. Hold the button down for roughly 3-5 seconds.
  4. Plug in your console, connect your controller using a USB cable and press the PS button. If the light bar turns blue, the controller has paired.

Connect

The first time you use your Access™ controller, you need to pair it with your PS5® console. Your console should also be set up and paired with a DualSense™ wireless controller.

  1. Make sure that your PS5 console is on.
  2. Connect your controller to your console using the included USB cable.
    Pairing is complete, and you can disconnect the USB cable if you’d like to use your controller wirelessly.
  3. Press the PS button on the stick base.
  4. Select a user.
    After the light bar blinks, the player indicator and the controller indicator light up.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your controller. Use the base profile to navigate through the setup.

If you want to use two new Access controllers for the first time, you need to pair both with your PS5 console. Your console should also be set up and paired with a DualSense™ wireless controller. 

  1. Make sure that your console is on. 
  2. Connect one of the controllers to your console with the included USB cable. Repeat with the second controller.
    Pairing is complete, and you can disconnect the USB cable if you’d like to use your controllers wirelessly.
  3. Press the PS button on the stick base of the first controller. 
  4. Select a user.
    After the light bar blinks, the player indicator and the controller indicator light up.
  5. Press the PS button on the stick base of the second controller.
  6. Select the same user as the first controller.
    After the light bar blinks, the player indicator lights up just like with the first controller, and two controller indicators light up.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your controllers. Use the base profile to navigate through the setup.

Personalize

Swap the button caps with the different types included to find which best suits your playstyle. You may want to turn off your Access controller while swapping caps to avoid accidentally pressing the buttons during gameplay.

You can mount your Access™ controller to a tripod or AMPS pattern base using the screw holes on the bottom of your controller. 

Find out expansion port specifications and 3D printing information for your Access™ controller for PlayStation®5 consoles.

Third-party buttons, switches, and other devices that are compatible with a 3.5mm port can be plugged into your controller’s expansion ports to add more mapping options. From the left, the ports are located in this order: E1, E2, USB port, E3, and E4.

Profiles

Create and save up to 30 custom profiles for your Access controller.

  1. From the home screen, go to Settings > Accessories
  2. Select Access controller > Profile Library.
  3. Select Create Profile.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the Controller Orientation and Button Assignments.
  5. Select one of the three slots, and then select Assign.
    If you select Assign without selecting a slot, your settings are saved on your PlayStation®5 console without being assigned to a slot in your controller.
  1. From the Profile Library, select a profile.
  2. Select Edit > Button Assignments
  3. Select the button you want to edit, and then select Assign Button.
  4. Select the function you want to assign to the button.
    You can also choose Not Assigned to set the button to null (no function).
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize the button press.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you edit all of the buttons you want. 
  7. When you’re done editing button assignments, select Done
  8. Save your edits by assigning the profile to a slot on your controller.

Troubleshoot

If you’re having issues with your controller, try using the reset button. This reset method doesn’t affect pairing, profiles, or other controller settings.

  1. Turn off your PlayStation®5 console.
    Go to the control center and select Power > Turn Off PS5.
    You can also press and hold the power button until your console beeps.
  2. Turn over your controller and locate the reset button.
  3. Use a small pin or similar object (not included) to push in the reset button for at least one second.
  4. Connect the controller to your PS5® console using the included USB cable and then press the PS button.

You can find the serial number on the back of the controller, above the QR code.

Make sure to update your PS5® console system software and your Access controller device software to the newest versions available.
