Észak jeges hegyvidékeitől a fülledt és sűrű déli dzsungelekig a Horizon tájak és vidékek széles skáláját mutatja be. Mindenfelé növényekkel benőtt romok árulkodnak egy elveszett civilizációról.
A Horizon világát a legkülönbözőbb méretű és formájú, hatalmas és fejlett gépek lakják. Ezek a rémítően idegen és mégis döbbenetesen ismerős titokzatos automaták a mechanikus erőt szerves formákkal és állatias vadsággal egyesítik.
A Horizon világában az emberiség utolsó maradványai különálló törzsekbe tömörültek. A múlt ismereteitől és technológiai vívmányaitól elzárva minden törzs saját gazdag kultúrát és hagyományokat alakított ki.
