Once you complete your passkey creation, you receive an email confirmation. You then use the passkey whenever you need to sign in to PSN.
If you’re using Android, make sure your Google account is compatible with Google Play services.
Recommended passkey providers include iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password, and Dashlane.
Some hardware security keys may encounter issues; consider using synced passkeys on mobile devices.
On mobile devices, use the default camera application to activate and sign in with a passkey. Certain Android phones may require a QR scanner app installation for some passkeys.
How to sign in with your passkey on PlayStation Network
Navigate to the sign-in screen on your PlayStation®5 console, PlayStation®4 console or connected device.
If you have issues signing in with your passkey or with your device, please select Can't Sign In with Passkey from the sign-in screen and sign in via email or QR code.
If your web browser isn’t updated, passkeys might not be supported. If you experience this type of issue, please revert to password sign in.
Using passkeys between some Android and Windows devices might cause issues. If you experience this type of issue, please select Can't Sign In with Passkey.

What are passkeys? Passkeys are a password replacement that allow you to securely log in to your accounts across the web by using biometrics like a fingerprint or face scan, or a screen lock PIN. Passkeys that are managed by phone or computer operating systems are automatically synced between the devices via a cloud service.
Can I use a passkey for PS Vita or PS3 consoles? On PlayStation®3 consoles and PlayStation®Vita systems, signing in to PlayStation™Network requires a device password.
What happens if I lose my phone? Can I still sign in on another device? If you have another device in the device ecosystem (such as iPad or Mac), you can sign in with that device, as the passkey is shared. If you can’t access a valid passkey, please visit the guide below.
Can I have multiple passkeys on my account? Yes. Your passkey is usable on any device in its device ecosystem (e.g. an iPhone passkey is immediately usable on an iPad or Mac using the same Apple ID). You can also add additional passkeys.
Can I switch back to password-based authentication after using a passkey Yes. You can revert to password authentication through your Security settings.
