PlayStation Plus requirements

  • Allow Console Sharing and Offline Play on a PS5™ console, or activate a primary PS4 system, to share your PlayStation Plus benefits with other players who share your console.
  • PlayStation Plus is tied to your account. If you're currently a PlayStation Plus member on your PS4™ console or other PlayStation device, you can keep using the same membership on your PS5™ console. Simply sign in to your account on your PS5 console and continue enjoying the benefits.

PlayStation Plus online multiplayer

In order to play most PS4 and PS5 games in online multiplayer, you need to have a PlayStation Plus subscription. Some games don't require a subscription. Check PlayStation™Store to see if PlayStation Plus is required for online play.

Network functions such as online multiplayer may have some age restrictions based on the age of the child and/or parental control settings.

The PlayStation Plus Collection (PS5 only)

The PlayStation Plus Collection is a library of generation-defining PS4 titles, available to enjoy on PlayStation 5 consoles as a new benefit to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

  • To access the library of games from your PlayStation 5 console, go to Games home and select PlayStation Plus > The PlayStation Plus Collection.

PlayStation Plus game help (PS5 only)

Having trouble progressing through a game and need a little help? Depending on where you are or what you are doing in the game, there may be hints, tips, or walkthrough videos from developers available to help you.

  1. While in your game, press the PS button to go to the control centre. 
  2. Select the card of your current game activity. 
  3. When Game Help is available for a task, the task is marked with Game Help. 
  4. Select the task you want help with. 
  5. If you want to play your game while referring to the guide, select Pin to Side from the Game Help screen.

PlayStation Plus monthly games, discounts, and exclusive content

Each month, PlayStation Plus subscribers can access a set of benefits, such as games to download, PlayStation Store discounts, and exclusive content.

PlayStation Plus cloud storage

PlayStation Plus cloud storage allows you to store your data with 100GB of online storage for PS5 and PS4 consoles.

Share your PlayStation Plus subscription

While you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can share selected benefits on your primary PS4 and one PS5 with Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled. 

Share Play with PlayStation Plus

Share Play is a PlayStation Plus feature that allows you to invite an online friend to watch or participate in your play session. The play session is streamed remotely and your friend does not need to own the game. 

What happens to PlayStation Plus benefits after cancellation?

If you cancel your PlayStation Plus subscription, you will continue to have access to all of your PlayStation Plus subscription benefits until your next scheduled payment date.

If your PlayStation Plus subscription expires and you renew it at a later date, you will regain access to content that you have previously obtained through PlayStation Plus.
