How to troubleshoot your PULSE Explore wireless earbuds

Find out how to reset your PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds and other troubleshooting steps.

How to reset your PULSE Explore wireless earbuds

If you’re having issues with your earbuds, try resetting them. Resetting won’t affect any PlayStation Link™ or Bluetooth pairings, or audio settings.

  1. Remove both earbuds from the charging case.
  2. Press and hold the PlayStation Link™ button on one of your earbuds for at least 12 seconds.
  3. Repeat on the other earbud.
  4. Dock both earbuds back in the case.

If you still have issues after attempting to reset, you may need to wipe all paired connections from your earbuds. This deletes all PS Link and Bluetooth pairings and audio settings.

  1. Make sure both of your earbuds are in the charging case.
  2. Quickly press the PS Link button on the case.
  3. Press and hold the PS Link button on the case and release it when the status indicator on the case quickly blinks blue (approximately 8 seconds).
  4. While the indicator is blinking, press and hold the PS Link button on the case again for another 8 seconds. Release it when the indicator quickly blinks blue.
If the wipe is successful, the indicator briefly blinks red.

How to sync your PULSE Explore wireless earbuds and charging case

If your earbuds and charging case have syncing issues, you may see that the status indicator on the case flashes red. This may be caused by the following situations:

  • You receive a new or replacement earbud from PlayStation Support.
  • You have two sets of wireless earbuds, and you lose track of which earbuds belong to their case.

You may need to sync your earbuds and case together to fix the issue. This deletes all PS Link and Bluetooth pairings and audio settings.

  1. Make sure both of your earbuds are in the charging case.
  2. Press and hold the PS Link button on the case for 8 seconds.
The indicator on the case blinks red, then green, then purple, then blue.
  3. Press and hold the PS Link button on the case again for another 8 seconds.
  4. Pair your earbuds again to your PS Link and/or Bluetooth device(s), and check to see if syncing issues are fixed.
