How to troubleshoot issues with your PS Link USB adapter

The PlayStation Link™ USB adapter communicates with PlayStation Link devices over a 2.4 GHz frequency and can be susceptible to interference from other devices operating within this frequency range.

See the guidelines below if you are experiencing connection issues while using your PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds when they're connected to your PS Link™ USB adapter.

How to troubleshoot USB adapter issues on your PS5 console

  • If you’re using a USB extended storage drive with your PlayStation®5 console, safely unplug the drive and see if the connection issues are resolved. USB 3.0 devices are known to cause interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
  • If there are other wireless devices operating in the 2.4 GHz band in close proximity to your PS Link USB adapter, remove them from immediate proximity and power down the devices to see if the connection issues are resolved. Example devices include:
    • Smart home devices (outlets, lights, thermostats, etc.)
    • Wireless speakers (sound bars, smart speakers, etc.)
    • Wireless routers
  • Try using a USB extension cable (sold separately) to place some distance between your USB adapter and potential sources of interference.

How to troubleshoot USB adapter issues on your PC/Mac

  • If you’re using a USB 3.0 hub with additional high-speed connected devices (monitors, external hard drives, etc.), safely unplug the devices and see if the connection issues are resolved. USB 3.0 devices are known to cause interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
  • If your computer has multiple in-use USB 3.0 ports, safely unplug the devices and see if the connection issues are resolved.
  • If there are other wireless devices operating in the 2.4 GHz band near your PS Link USB adapter, remove them and power down the devices to see if the connection issues are resolved. Example devices include:
    • Smart home devices (outlets, lights, thermostats, etc.)
    • Wireless speakers (sound bars, smart speakers, etc.)
    • Wireless routers
  • Try using a USB extension cable (sold separately) to place some distance between your USB adapter and potential sources of interference.
