How to swap connectors on your PlayStation Link USB adapter

Find out how to swap the connector of your PlayStation Link™ USB adapter (model CFI-ZWA3) to a different type that works best for your available ports.

How to swap connectors on your adapter

You can remove the connector of your PlayStation Link™ USB adapter (model CFI-ZWA3) to swap to a different type that works best for your available ports. Both a USB Type-A connector and USB Type-C® connector are included with this standalone model version.

Be sure not to use any tools or your fingernails to remove the connector, as this may cause a malfunction or injury.

  1. Grip the plastic base of the connector. Be sure not to grip the metal part of the connector, as this could damage it.
  2. Firmly but carefully pull out the connector with a gentle motion. Be careful not to pull at a sharp angle, which could bend or break the connector.
  3. Align the other connector to the adapter and insert it until the plastic parts meet.
  • If you don't have an extra connector, you can use one of the products below (sold separately). Make sure the product supports USB 2.0 or higher and is compatible with your console or PC/Mac.
    • USB-A to USB-C® extension hub or cable
    • USB-C to USB-C® extension hub or cable
    • These options are helpful if you have an earlier adapter model (CFI-ZWA2) without a removable connector, or if you lost the removable connector of your adapter (CFI-ZWA3). You can also use them if you want to extend the adapter out to avoid blockage or interference (such as from the back of your console).
