What is PlayStation Link? 

PlayStation Link™ is a technology that provides lossless, wireless connection. Peripherals like the PULSE Elite™ wireless headset and PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds run on PS Link technology through the PlayStation Link™ USB adapter. Other products, like the PlayStation Portal™ remote player, also connect to PS Link devices via the supported PS Link technology.

All PS Link devices (products or peripherals that are supported by PS Link technology) have a dedicated PS Link button.

Which products support PlayStation Link? 

Products supported by PS Link will have the PS Link icon or say “PS Link” on their packaging.

How does PlayStation Link work? 

  • PlayStation Link audio devices connect with PlayStation Link USB adapters or PlayStation Link compatible devices. 
  • With certain PS Link audio devices, you can simultaneously connect to a PS Link supported device (PS5 console, PC, Mac, or PlayStation Portal) and a Bluetooth supported device. For example, PULSE Explore wireless earbuds can be connected to your PS5 console (via the PlayStation Link USB adapter) and to a mobile phone through Bluetooth at the same time. While playing on your PS5 console, you can answer a call and hear it through the same PULSE Explore wireless earbuds.

Frequently asked questions 

Can I connect another PlayStation headset to my PS Link devices?
PlayStation Link connections are only supported between PlayStation Link devices. PlayStation Link devices have the PlayStation Link symbol.

Can I use my PlayStation® Link devices with PS4 consoles?
Yes. Follow the steps below to set up a compatible PS Link device.

  1. Charge the device using the included USB cable.

  2. Insert the PlayStation Link USB Adapter into your console.

  3. Turn on your device.

  4. Press the PlayStation Link™ button on your device. 
    The status indicator slowly blinks while searching for a connection. 
    When connected, the indicators on your device and adapter turn solid.

Please note, the following PS5 features with PlayStation Link are not available on PS4 consoles with your PlayStation Link devices.

  • Headset battery level 

  • Audio Settings (including Equalizer, sidetone, and 3D audio)

  • Equalizer and sidetone volume settings are stored on your headset and will persist with your PS4 console. 

  • Sound control access via PS Link button triple press.
