Mastering combat

Combine swift adamantium attacks with powerful kicks, fierce barrages and critical strikes. Use Logan’s senses to get the drop on enemies and build momentum through Rage to become even more lethal.

Fight like Wolverine

Close the gap and fiercely cut into enemies with razor-sharp adamantium. Use a combination of leaps, kicks, shred attacks and Special Techniques to juggle enemies and take authority over every fight.

Stay sharp

Be ruthless and instinctual. Use Logan’s quick reflexes to dodge and parry incoming attacks, and turn an enemy's aggression against them. But some foes are more combative than others: successfully execute multiple parries to stagger them, or respond to Reckless Attacks (yellow flashes) with lethal counters.

Prioritize targets

Deal with ranged attackers early to stop them piling on pressure from afar. Leaders (marked by a red icon) should also be a priority, as they empower nearby enemies to coordinate and fight more aggressively.

Predator meets prey

Logan’s senses can give him an animalistic edge against unsuspecting foes. Get the drop on them from above or behind cover. Surprise them up close with quick takedowns, or silence them from afar with a predatory leap – at the risk of making noise and alerting others.

Unleash your Rage

Logan’s an extraordinary fighter but becomes a whole new animal with Rage, which builds through aggressive combat. Unleash Wolverine’s endurance, resilience and fury using three increasingly powerful tiers.

From Rage Tier 2, Logan’s moves become empowered and losing all Health can activate Last Stand, giving Logan a chance to get back in the fight. Tier 3 greatly increases his damage, lets him shrug off incoming attacks, and unlocks deadly Critical Strikes.

A whole new animal

Select your Special Techniques

Logan’s arsenal includes Special Techniques alongside his core abilities and unlockable moves. Equip up to four of these at a time and invest additional Technique Points to upgrade their effects.

Some Special Techniques are unlocked through story progress, while others require Logan to reach a certain level.

Tornado spin

Cleave surrounding enemies with a high-damage, multi-hit spin attack that builds Logan’s Rage. With upgrades, each spin deals increased damage, breaks enemy blocks and even interrupts attacks.

Knee breaker

Strike an enemy in the head to stagger them, interrupting their attacks. With upgrades, Knee Breaker increases stagger damage, recharges faster and even deals area stagger damage.

Relentless

Focus your healing factor to recover Health faster for a limited duration. Upgrading it allows the Technique to also shrug off basic attacks, increases its duration and grants a healing burst when Logan is near death.

Spiral strike

Drill through your foes with a high-damage attack that can break through enemies when surrounded. Upgrade Spiral Strike to unleash it up to three times in rapid succession.

Overwhelm

Charge forward to tackle and mount an opponent. Upgrade Overwhelm to knock other enemies back as you charge, chain into another tackle following a Barrage kill and recharge the Technique faster.

Brutal assault

Dash towards your target and deliver a vicious combo that breaks through enemy defenses. Upgrades add extra strikes, build Rage with kills and more…

Play your way

How to use Adaptions

Adaptations are powerful tools that can be equipped and swapped to enhance Logan’s abilities. Earn AP to increase your Adaptation Level, unlocking new Adaptations and the Strands to slot them into. You can equip a maximum of 10 during your first playthrough, and swap them at any time to suit the situation.

Looking for extra resilience? Tough Skinned reduces melee damage, while Healing Dangerously rewards well-timed reactions with restored Health.

Confident fighters can trade defensive options for Adaptations that keep them on the offensive. Barrage Recharge gets your Special Techniques back faster, while Enraging Sprint turns incoming enemy fire into Rage.

Hunting down everything the world has to offer? Save some Strands for Crate Finder and Whisky Finder, making it easier to detect collectibles from farther away and even through obstructions.

Trust your senses

Explore the environment and evolve your abilities

Explore the world around you to discover Nightmare Doors, sniff out Whisky Bottles and loot Material Crates.

Whisky Bottles

Finding them earns AP towards your next Adaptation Level, helping unlock new Adaptations and the Strands needed to equip them. Plus, like most stiff drinks, each comes with a good story.

Nightmare Doors

Discover Nightmare Doors hidden throughout the journey and take on the Nightmare Trials beyond. Completing Trials earns AP, and special Gauntlet trials even reward you with pieces of new outfits and claws.

Material Crates

Listen for the sound of Material Crates. Use the Materials inside to craft new suits and work towards additional permanent Health upgrades.

XP Caches

Appearing in different forms depending on their location, these breakable objects yield XP when destroyed. If it glows, it’s probably worth shredding.

Wolverine's outfits

Unlock new looks inspired by Wolverine’s appearances across comics, animation, films and games, including X-Force, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Yellow Variant suits.

Each outfit comes with its own claw style, which can be independently equipped with any other outfit to create your own look for Logan. Outfits and claws are purely cosmetic and don’t affect gameplay, so you can slice away in your preferred style.

The adventure begins in the jungles of Telambang where Logan will face off against deadly Reavers led by the brutish Omega Red.

Canada

Canada is home to Wolverine. Fight and travel through the wintry wilds, or take a beat to meet other mutants inside Nathaniel Essex’s Institute – a remote, defensible and safe home for lost mutants.

Madripoor

Explore the disparate island nation of Madripoor, home to the Princess Bar in Low Town – a safe haven for mutants run by Tyger Tiger. It’s also home to Trask’s headquarters in High Town.

Japan

From neon-lit streets and arcades to underground complexes and high-rises – Japan’s Shinjuku is as beautiful as it is dangerous. Face off against deadly forces like the Hand to uncover new truths about Logan’s past.

The fight doesn’t end there

As you progress through the adventure, you’ll gain access to Logan’s Nightmare Cabin, allowing you to replay missions and Nightmare Trials at any time. It’s perfect for trophy hunters, as all level-specific trophies and collectibles can be acquired through Mission Replay.
