  2. Select Order History from the drop-down menu.
  3. Check that your GTAVI pre-order was successful.

Physical (Code-In-Box) versions will only contain a game download code inside the box to support pre-load. A disc will not be included in the box.

  2. Select Redeem Code from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your code.

If your code is missing or unreadable, please contact the retailer.

To be ready to play GTAVI when it's released, check that the following settings are enabled on your PS5 console before pre-load starts.

Auto-download

  1. From your games home, select Game Library > Your Collection, and then select your pre-order of GTAVI.
A timer counting down to the game's release appears.
  2. Select the timer.
Make sure the checkbox next to GTAVI is selected to enable auto-download.

Stay Connected to the Internet

After completing your pre-order purchase, you may be asked whether you want your console to stay connected to the internet while in rest mode. If you select Yes, this enables your PS5 console to auto-download games while in rest mode.

To set this up later:

  1. Go to your home screen and select Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode.
  2. Select Stay Connected to the Internet to turn on the setting.

To ensure the pre-load for GTAVI is successful, go to the control centre and select Power > Enter Rest Mode before pre-load starts.

To check how much free storage space you have, go to the home screen and select Settings > Storage.

To free up your storage space, delete existing data or move data to a different storage device

  1. From the home screen, select Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings.

  2. Turn on Download Update Files Automatically and Install Update Files Automatically.

If you share your PS5 console, make sure Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled so other accounts on your PS5 console can play GTAVI.

  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
  2. Select Enable.

Once pre-load becomes available, you can check that the download has started.

  1. From your games home, select Game Library, and then select your pre-ordered game.
A timer counting down to the game's release appears.
  2. Select the timer.
Check that the pre-load has started. To start pre-load manually, select the option to download.

If GTAVI appears in Downloads/Uploads but is not downloading:

  1. Open Downloads/Uploads from the control centre.
  2. Select the GTAVI download.
  3. Select Pause.
  4. Select Resume.

If the download still does not start:

  1. Select the GTAVI download in Downloads/Uploads.
  2. Select Cancel and Delete.
  3. Return to Game Library.
  4. Select GTAVI and enable auto-download.

If you are still unable to start the pre-load, check that:

  • You are signed in to the account that was used to pre-order GTAVI or enter the GTAVI Physical (Code-In-Box) code.
  • Your PS5 console is connected to the internet.
  • There is enough storage space available.
  • Your system software is up to date.
