How to manage payment options on PlayStation Store

Find out how to add or remove a payment method on PlayStation™Store.

How to add a payment method online

  1. Sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.
  2. Select Add Payment Method.
  3. Choose the payment method you want to add.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add payment information.
  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
  2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods.
  3. Choose the payment method you want to add.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add payment information.
  1. Go to PlayStation Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Payment Methods.
  3. Choose the payment method you want to add.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add payment information.
  1. Select the PlayStation Store icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the menu icon from the top right of the screen and choose Payment Methods.
  3. Select Add Payment Method, and choose the payment method you want to add.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add payment information.

For more information, select the payment type you would like to use from the list below.

  • Please note, any payment method added while shopping on PlayStation Store will be saved to your account. 
  • You can add a maximum of 3 credit or debit cards to your account.

How to remove a PlayStation Store payment method online

  1. Sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.
  2. Select Add Payment Method.
  3. Choose the payment method you wish to delete, and select Remove.
  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
  2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method, press the options button and select Remove.
  1. Go to PlayStation Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method and select Delete.
  1. Select the PlayStation Store icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the menu icon from the top right of the screen and select Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method and select Remove.
  • When you delete payment details on one device, they are deleted from all devices linked to the account.
  • Removing payment methods will not cancel the active subscriptions on your account. To cancel a subscription, please visit the guide below.

How to change your default payment method online

  1. Sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.
  2. Choose a payment method and select Edit.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and check Set as default payment method.
  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
  2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method, press the options button and select Set as Default Payment Method.
  1. Go to PlayStation Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method and select Set as Default.
  1. Select the PlayStation Store icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select the menu icon from the top right of the screen and select Payment Methods.
  3. Choose a payment method and select Edit.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and check Set as default payment method.

How to set spending limits

  • The family manager can set spending limits for child accounts online and on your console.

How to set "Require Password at Checkout"

Enabling Require Password at Checkout enhances security by preventing other users from making purchases on PlayStation Store account without your authorization.
