Learn how to set up YouTube on PlayStation®4 consoles.
Open the YouTube app and select your profile.
Select Sign Out.
Select Unlink Account.
Make sure the app is up to date. Highlight the YouTube app and press the options button, and then select Check for Updates.
Start the YouTube app and select a 360° video to watch. If your console detects that your PS VR headset is connected and powered up, you'll usually be prompted to select a mode:
Normal: You can watch normal videos in Cinematic mode.
VR: You can watch 360° videos.
When watching 360° videos, both the left and right joysticks on the attached controller can be used to pan around the video. Go to youtube.com to browse the current selection of 360° videos.
If you want to watch YouTube videos in 4K, you’ll need:
A PlayStation®5 console or PlayStation®4 Pro console set up for 4K image quality.
An Ultra HD or 4K display device.
A steady internet connection of at least 25 Mbps.
Once a 4K video is selected, the console will automatically stream the content in 4K resolution. If you want to make sure you're streaming in 4K, in the YouTube app go to Settings > Show Video Info > Enabled.
A 4K video normally has 3840 x 2160 resolution, so if you see these values, you're streaming in 4K quality. Picture quality also depends on the video you're streaming.
