  • What kind of internet connection do I need to stream games on PS Now?

As a minimum broadband speed, we recommend 5Mbps. We also recommend using a wired connection, and limiting the use of other network connected devices to get the best experience.

  • What does streaming mean?

With PS Now you can choose to stream or download a game. If you stream it, the game will be streamed from our servers over your internet connection, just like streaming a movie. This means you won’t have to download anything to your PS4 or PC and the entire game library is immediately available for you to play as and when you want.

Games are streamed from our servers over your internet connection at a maximum resolution of 720p. Audio for streamed games is available in stereo only; surround sound is not supported.

  • Can I save a streamed game?

Streamed games auto-save their data to PS Now cloud storage, so you can access your saved game data from any PS Now compatible device that you sign in on.

Saved game data is not automatically transferred between games installed on your PS4 system's HDD, and streaming games launched on PlayStation Now.

Addirtionally., PS Now games do not support  auto-upload of save game files to your PlayStation Plus
online storage. Game save data stored in PlayStation Plus cloud storage can be transferred manually to PlayStation Now, and vice versa, using the Save Data Management function on your PS4, and Save Data Utility option for PS3 games.

  • Why is there a queue for the game I want to play?

Occasionally, during periods of high traffic, streaming users may be required to wait for a short period to gain access to certain titles.

If you’re ever in a queue, you can press the PS button to go back to the main menu and use any PlayStation 4 functions while you wait. You will be notified when you reach the front of the queue and your game is ready to play.
