There may be a problem with your 2-step verification settings.

If this error occurs when setting up 2-step verification, the phone number you are trying to register may have been registered with another account:

  1. If the phone number is registered with another account, please delete the number from the account and try again, or try another phone number.
  2. To register or delete a phone number on your PlayStation®5 console, please go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Security > Mobile Number.
