The world of Horizon Zero Dawn is inhabited by machines of all shapes and sizes. Terrifyingly alien yet strikingly familiar, these mysterious automatons combine mechanical strength with organic features and an animalistic ferocity. Below are some of the machines you will encounter:
Weaponcraft
Wield Exotic Weapons
In Horizon Zero Dawn, primitive materials are combined with high-tech components to produce highly effective hunting weapons. Take down machines many times your size by making smart use of your arsenal of modifiable weapons, including the Hunter Bow, the Sling and the Ropecaster.
Hunter Bow
The Hunter Bow is a lightweight, low-powered bow capable of firing regular arrows, fire arrows and hardpoint arrows. It is particularly effective against unarmored humans and animals.
Ropecaster
The Ropecaster is ideal for temporarily slowing down or immobilizing targets. The arrow on one end of the rope is fired at the target, while the arrow on the other end is fired into the ground.
Stealth Takedowns
Enemies like this Watcher act as sentries and a warning system to other machines nearby. By avoiding their gaze and sneaking up, Aloy can deliver a lethal, (mostly) silent takedown. Dispatching enemies this way prevents the larger group from realizing the hunters have just become the hunted.

An Outcast Looking to Belong
You will play as Aloy, a young hunter on a quest to discover her destiny among the remnants of the ancient past. Shunned by her own tribe since birth, Aloy has learned to harness her agility, cunning, and deadly aim to hunt the Machines, defend against rival tribes, and survive in the unforgiving wilds.
