Find out about how passkeys can make your account more secure, how to set one up and how to sign in to PlayStation™Network (PSN) with a passkey.
Once you complete your passkey creation, you receive an email confirmation. You can then use the passkey whenever you need to sign in to PSN.
If you have a passkey set up for your account, follow these steps to add more passkeys.
If you have issues signing in with your passkey or with your device, please select Can't Sign In with Passkey from the sign-in screen and sign in via email or QR code.
Please note:
What are passkeys?
Passkeys are a password replacement that allow you to securely log in to your accounts across the web by using biometrics like a fingerprint or face scan, or a screen lock PIN. Passkeys that are managed by phone or computer operating systems are automatically synced between the devices via a cloud service.
Can I use a passkey for PS Vita or PS3 consoles?
On PlayStation®3 consoles and PlayStation®Vita systems, signing in to PlayStation™Network requires a device password.
What happens if I lose my phone? Can I still sign in on another device?
If you have another device in the device ecosystem (such as iPad or Mac), you can sign in with that device, as the passkey is shared. If you can’t access a valid passkey, please visit the guide below.
Can I have multiple passkeys on my account?
Yes. Your passkey is usable on any device in its device ecosystem (e.g. an iPhone passkey is immediately usable on an iPad or Mac using the same Apple ID). You can also add additional passkeys.
Can I switch back to password-based authentication after using a passkey?
Yes. You can revert to password authentication through your security settings.
