Set up DUALSHOCK 4 back button attachment

The DUALSHOCK 4 back button attachment is only compatible with a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller.

  1. Turn your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller off by holding the PS Button > Sound/Devices > Turn Off Device > DUALSHOCK 4.

  2. With the attachment's stereo plug and controller's stereo headset jack aligned, firmly push the attachment toward the controller to insert.

  3. Press the PS button to turn on your controller.

  4. Press the screen button on the attachment twice to switch between the three default profiles.

Customise DUALSHOCK 4 back button attachment assignments

  1. Hold the screen button down for 1 second to enter programming mode. The profile number in the centre of the screen flashes to let you know you're in programming mode.

  2. Press the left and right back buttons to select a button assignment. Press and hold a back button to scroll through the possible assignments.

  3. Click the screen button once to exit programming mode and save your profile.

If you want to customise another profile:
  1. Hold the screen button down for 1 second to enter programming mode. 
  2. Click twice to program the next profile.

Reset DUALSHOCK 4 back button attachment

If you want to reset your attachment to the default profiles:

  1. Press and hold the left back button, right back button and screen button at the same time. 
  2. Once the reset icon appears on the screen, continue to hold for 5 seconds. 
  3. When HJKL appears, the reset is done.
