Master strategist Richard Webb knows all too well that memorizing your surroundings can be the difference between life and death. There’s also nothing wrong with making your stand in some of the more picturesque parts of the island.
A volcanic eruption in the island's distant past created a rugged landscape and rough coastline known for attracting shipwrecks. It has remained mostly undeveloped for centuries, something that has changed very little even under Nazi occupation.
While not picture perfect, the large shipping vessels docked here and shallow waters nearby are enticing locations to explore. Beware of deep water in this part of the island though, and pay attention to warning buoys and posted danger signs.
While the jungle has begun to reclaim many of the structures here there are still looting opportunities to be found, and the beach here is one of the most secluded spots on the entire island for those looking to catch a breather between engagements.
Follow Wade Jackson’s advice for the best places to find aircraft, and places to avoid flying over if you don’t want to end up making an unexpected landing.
This is the obvious choice for those looking to take to the skies with the largest concentration of planes appearing at this location. The military encampments in and around the airport provide additional looting opportunities and can be a life saver when you need to duck out of site from a diving fighter plane.
You’ll probably want to give this area a wide birth while airborne. The thick defensive walls of the sub-pen can protect players from hunting planes and killstreaks, while AA guns on the top of the main structure allow for offensive minded players to fight back against any aircraft.
If your strengths lay in fast and frenetic combat, then look no further than Arthur Kingsley, leader of Task Force One, who can offer his suggestions for the best places to get up-close and personal with the enemy.
Factories and warehouses at the docks provide some of the tightest close-quarters combat gameplay on the Northern side of the island and is a key target for both attackers and defenders.
Peak is the highest point on the island and highly defensible. The mining tunnels and structures cut into the volcano make great ambush opportunities against those trying to make their escape.
Sharpshooter Polina Petrova has a penchant for finding the perfect perches to pick off unsuspecting opponents. Caldera offers exceptional viewpoints, so long as you cover your six.
Better known as “Lagoon”, sea caves in this location make for great hiding spots and provide opportunities for looting that may not be obvious from ariel reconnaissance.
Keep an eye out for the old lighthouse that provides a powerful overlook for those interested in locking down the Western coastline.
Taking up post around the edges of this agriculturally rich valley can be fruitful for snipers – this loot-rich area is a hotbed of activity for those more comfortable with mid-range combat.
The control tower in this location can be a desirable location for snipers, but watch out for enemy planes who will surely see this elevated position as an easy target.
