Learn where you can find the serial and model numbers on your DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller and when you might need to use them.

It is recommended that you have these numbers to hand when contacting PlayStation Support. 

How to find the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller serial number

The serial number can be found on the back of the wireless controller, below the bar code.

  • The serial number has 14 alphanumeric characters.

How to find the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller model number

The model number can be found on the back of the wireless controller, above the bar code.

  • The model can be up to 12 alphanumeric characters. For example, CUH-ZCT2U.
