Joining a PlayStation™Network party allows you to communicate with group members via voice chat and text messages.
Join a party to voice chat with your friends and other players while using a game or other application. Parties have a maximum player limit of 16 players.
Groups are sets of players that you can message or invite into a Party. A Group is private and by invitation only.
From the PS4 home screen, press up to reach the function screen > Party > Start Party.
Select Create Group or select an existing group from the dropdown list to join.
Choose your group name, select the privacy settings and Add Players to invite friends to join your party.
Once a new group has been created, it will be saved even after your game session ends. Start a new party with the same members by selecting your previously created group.
From the PS4 home screen, press up to reach the function screen and select Party.
You will see a list of the parties you can join. You can also Customise the quick menu to include the Party shortcut.
If you receive an invite from a friend, press the PS button on your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to join their party. To view recent invites, select Notifications from the function screen.
If you created the group, you can remove players. Highlight a player in the Players Tab, press the options button, and then select Kick Out from Group.
While you are in a party, press options on your DualShock 4 wireless controller to enter the Quick Menu and select Mute Microphone.
To reach the party setting, select Party from the function menu and find party settings on the top of the screen.
