What is PlayStation Plus?

PlayStation®Plus is a paid subscription service from PlayStation that gives players access to games, online multiplayer, and exclusive content. PlayStation Plus has 3 subscription membership plans to choose from.

Subscribe to PlayStation Plus online

  1. Select a PlayStation Plus membership plan.
  2. Follow on-screen instructions to set up your subscription.
  1. From the Games home screen, scroll right and select the PlayStation Plus icon. 
  2. Follow on-screen instructions to set up your subscription.
  1. From the Function screen, scroll right and select the PlayStation Plus icon. 
  2. Follow on-screen instructions to set up your subscription.

PlayStation Plus requirements

  • To join PlayStation Plus, you need an account created at the age of 7 or older. 

  • To share your PlayStation Plus benefits with other players who share your console, enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on your PlayStation®5 console, or activate a primary PlayStation®4 console.

  • PlayStation Plus is tied to your account. If you're currently a PlayStation Plus member on your PS4™ console or other PlayStation device, you can keep using the same membership on your PS5™ console. Simply sign in to your account on your PS5 console and continue enjoying the benefits.

Share your PlayStation Plus subscription

While you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can share selected benefits on your primary PS4 and one PS5 with Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled. 

Does PlayStation Plus include online multiplayer?

In order to play most PS4 and PS5 games in online multiplayer, you need to have a PlayStation Plus subscription. Some games don’t require a subscription, check PlayStation™Store to see if PlayStation Plus is required for online play.

Network functions such as online multiplayer may have some age restrictions based on the age of the child and/or parental control settings.

Does PlayStation Plus include cloud storage?

PlayStation Plus cloud storage allows you to store your data with 100 GB of online storage for PS5 consoles and PS4 consoles. The number of PS4 saved data files you can store is limited to 1000.

Does PlayStation Plus include Share Play?

Share Play is a PlayStation Plus feature that allows you to invite an online friend to watch or participate in your play session. The play session is streamed remotely and your friend does not need to own the game.
