How to adjust general controller settings on PS4 consoles

Configure controller settings on your PlayStation®4 console and customize settings such as the controller's speaker volume or vibration intensity.

How to change general controller settings on PS4 consoles

  1. Go to Settings > Devices.
  2. Select Controllers to configure the following settings:

You can adjust the volume output from the controller by highlighting Volume Control (Speaker for Controller) and moving the volume bar left or right.

You can turn the vibration function on and off by operating Enable Vibration.

When you disable vibration, the controller doesn’t vibrate even when you enable the vibration function from within a game.

Adjust the brightness of the light bar.

You can choose whether to communicate with your PS4 console using Bluetooth, or a wired connection with the USB cable.

This setting will only appear if you have connected a CUH-ZCT2 series controller using a USB cable.
