How to reset your Access controller from the reset button

If you’re having issues with your controller, try using the reset button. This reset method doesn’t affect pairing, profiles, or other controller settings.

  1. Turn off your PlayStation®5 console. 
    Go to the control centre and select Power > Turn Off PS5
    You can also press and hold the power button until your console beeps. 
  2. Turn over your controller and locate the reset button. 
  3. Use a small pin or similar object (not included) to push in the reset button for at least one second.
  4. Connect the controller to your PS5® console using the included USB cable and then press the PS button.

How to reset your Access controller to factory default 

You can reset your controller to factory default from your PS5 console. This reset method deletes any profiles assigned to the slots on your controller. 

  1. From the home screen, go to Settings > Accessories
  2. Select Access controller > Reset
  3. Select Yes to reset your controller.
    If you have two Access controllers paired to your console, select the controller that you want to reset, and then select Reset.

  4. Select OK to exit the menu. 
  • Even after resetting your controller, your saved profiles remain on your PS5 console.
