Updates on PlayStation™Network Terms of Service and User Agreement

We want to let you know that we have made some changes to the PSN Terms of Service and User Agreement (“Agreement”). 


What’s changed?

We have made several changes throughout to improve clarity. The most notable changes are explained below:

  • Implemented new numbering to improve readability.
  • Updated requirements to agree to additional content-specific or service-specific terms or policies as well as terms and conditions that govern your use of third party services – Sections 1.4. and 1.5.
  • Updated requirements to agree to System Software License Agreement and all applicable Software Product License Agreements – Section 1.6.
  • Updated requirements to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your account – Sections 2.5. and 2.6.
  • Updated actions we may take if we believe your account for PSN has been compromised – Section 2.7.
  • Updated Code of Conduct which users must follow and moderation actions we can take if the Code of Conduct has been violated including notifying law enforcement if the breach involves a threat to the life or safety of yourself or others, or any other activity that we believe to be unlawful – Sections 4.1. and 4.2.
  • Updated actions we may take if we believe that your Child may be in distress, including directing you to third party services for assistance – Section 4.2.
  • Updated the definition of “Virtual Items” and restrictions on the use, collection and transfer of Virtual Items – Section 8.9.
  • Updated steps you should take to safeguard your account and our account security settings to prevent unauthorised payment transactions – Section 8.13.
  • Clarified steps we may take to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information on the PlayStation™Store and related PlayStation websites – Section 8.14.
  • Updated restrictions on the use of viruses, spyware or automated software (such as bots or scripts) – Sections 10.6. and 10.7.
  • Updated actions we may take if we have evidence to conclude or reasonably believe that you have violated the terms of the Agreement – Section 14.
  • Updated governing law and jurisdiction information – Section 15.4.
  • Clarified warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability – Sections 16.1. and 16.2.
  • Updated contact numbers for customer support – Section 16.3.
