Frequently asked questions

PlayStation Plus now has three subscription plans with tiered pricing and features, letting you choose the plan that matches the way you play.

The PlayStation Plus features you know – like online multiplayer, monthly games and exclusive discounts – now make up the PlayStation Plus Essential membership plan. We’ve added a Game Catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games to download as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra plan, while PlayStation Plus Premium gives you the Classics Catalogue, limited-time trials for a selection of new games from PlayStation Store, and the option to stream select games from the Game Catalogue and Classics Catalogue to a your PS4 or PS5 console or to your PC.

PlayStation Now has merged with PlayStation Plus, and all features of PlayStation Now including a game library of hundreds of games to download or stream on-demand, are now part of the new PlayStation Plus service.

If you were previously a PlayStation Now subscriber, you will be migrated into the new PlayStation Plus Premium Plan, retaining access to the features and benefits you paid for with your PlayStation Now subscription. If you were previously subscribed to both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, you will now have a single membership with a recurring payment date and price for your PlayStation Plus Premium membership.

You can purchase a new subscription that will start when your existing plan ends – so if you’re eligible for an unmissable deal on a PlayStation Plus membership, you can take advantage of the special price and keep your membership active for longer. The new membership period will begin as soon as your current plan ends.

To upgrade your membership plan to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, you just need to purchase a membership at that level. You will pay a pro-rated fee to bring your payments to the level of your new plan for the remainder of the paid membership period.

To change from your current plan to a lower tier plan, sign-in to the account settings page for your account for PlayStation Network and choose the Subscriptions tab to manage your PlayStation Plus membership plan. Your membership will continue on a lower tier plan after the next payment date.

Yes, all supported game modes will be available to you as they would with any other version of that game. Certain older titles may no longer support online play.

PlayStation Plus Premium members can choose to stream any PS4 game from the Games Catalogue and any game from the Classics Catalogue on PS4 and PS5 consoles. PS4 games from the Games Catalogue and the entire Classics Catalogue can be streamed on PC.

To stream games to your PS4, PS5, or PC, you need a broadband internet connection of at least 5Mbps. To stream in 1080p resolution, you must choose a game that supports it and have a broadband internet connection of at least 15Mbps.

To stream to PC you’ll also need the free PC app, available here.

Visit PlayStation Store on your console, on the web here or on the PlayStation app and choose ‘Redeem codes’ from the menu. To input the gift card number.

You can also add funds to your PlayStation Network wallet with a cash amount card and use those funds to purchase a membership.

Remember that recurring membership fees are charged automatically by default. This means your registered payment method will be charged until the membership is cancelled. You can cancel at any time. When cancelled, your membership will expire at the end of the period for which you’ve already paid. This will stop future payments of membership fees.
