Request to Watch feature on PlayStation®4

Find out how to send a request to watch your friend's gameplay.

Request to Watch on PS4 consoles

  1. Select Friends  from the function screen.
  2. Select Now Playing, and then select the Friend whose gameplay you want to view.
  3. Select Overview > Now Playing > Request to Watch.

When you receive a Request to Watch notification, you can choose to  Broadcast to Many People or  Share Play with Only One Player.

Broadcast to Many People

Share your gameplay with players using a streaming service. You can also use your PlayStation Camera or a microphone to comment on your gameplay.

Share Play with Only One Player

With Share Play, you can let a friend watch you play your favourite game by sharing your screen, let them take over control of the action and try the game for themselves, or even jump into a local multiplayer coop or versus game.

A PlayStation 4 console and Internet connection are required for each Share Play participant. PlayStation Plus may be required.

Disable Requests to Watch

If you want to disable these requests:

  • Go to Settings > Account Management > Privacy Settings >  Gaming | Media Requests to Watch,  and select No-one.
