Learn how to launch and use Netflix on PlayStation®4.

Launch Netflix app on PS4

  1. Navigate to the TV & Video icon on the home screen and select the Netflix App.
    Please note, you must be signed in to PlayStation to access TV & Video services.

  2. Select Download.

  3. Once the installation is complete you will be able to use the app.

Do I need to be signed in to PlayStation to access Netflix?

Yes. You must be signed in to use Netflix.

Sign in and out of Netflix on PS4

  1. From the content area of your home screen, navigate to the TV & Video icon and select the Netflix app.

    Please note, you must be signed in to PlayStation to access TV & Video services.

  2. Select Sign in on the Netflix home screen.

  3. Enter your Netflix email address and password. These might be different from your PlayStation details.

  1. Launch the Netflix app and press the circle button. 
  2. Select the gear icon > Sign Out.

Netflix parental controls on PS4

The parental lock feature allows filtering of age-rated Blu-ray Disc content. Controls need to be set on the Netflix account page in order to filter age-rated Netflix content. The Parental Controls of the PlayStation 4 system will not affect Netflix Instant Watch titles.

Netflix resolution on PS4

You can stream movies and TV shows up to 1080p. Titles with an HD symbol will stream in high definition if your internet connection supports 5 Mbps or more. 

Ultra HD on PS4 Pro

You can stream Ultra HD* from Netflix to your PS4 Pro subject to a few requirements. You need:

  • A PS4 Pro system.

  • An Ultra HD or 4K TV.

  • An Ultra HD Netflix plan.

  • A steady internet connection of at least 25 Mbps.
