Games have hubs on PS5. Each game’s hub collects everything related to that game together, from activities, to community broadcasts, to new game content. It’s a constantly updated space that will evolve and adapt throughout the game’s lifecycle.
Game creators can build their PS5 games so you can jump straight into specific missions, modes, quests, and more straight from the console's Control Centre.
Quickly access frequently used system features, game content, and activities without leaving your gameplay. Simply press the PS button while playing to see the Control Centre overlay.
Take on special in-game challenges in supported PS5 games, and share your results with friends on PS5 to see if they can do better. If your friend beats your high score or time, you will get notified and get a chance to beat them right back.

Organize your game collection into personalized Gamelists. You can group your favourite disc, digital or streaming titles* or genres together in lists that you can name and access via the 'Your Collection' tab of the game library.

Upgrade the storage capacity of your PS5™ console by installing a compatible M.2 solid state drive.
You can now play your PS5 and PS4™ games and media apps directly from the high-speed SSD expansion, which you can also use to store, download and manage this content.
Important: before installing a compatible M.2 solid state drive, you should review the minimum performance and size requirements here, and install the latest system software update to your PS5™ console.
Experience immersive virtual surround sound with 3D Audio support for your TV.
Tempest 3D AudioTech is accessible directly from your built-in TV speakers when you’re playing games and watching videos on your PS5 console.
You can enhance the visual performance of compatible PlayStation®5 games by enabling Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) on your PS5 console. This allows your PS5 console to sync the refresh rate of your display to the PS5 console’s graphical output on HDMI 2.1 VRR-compatible TVs and PC monitors. Results may vary depending on the TV you’re using and game you’re playing.
Gameplay in compatible PS5 games will feel smoother with VRR enabled, as scenes render seamlessly, and graphics look crisper – with frame pacing issues and screen tearing minimized.
You can also choose to apply VRR to PS5 games that are not officially compatible, which may improve video quality for some games. If enabling VRR results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn it off at any time.
HDMI 2.1 VRR-compatible TV or PC monitor required. Results may vary depending on the TV you’re using and game you’re playing. If enabling VRR results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn it off at any time.
Enjoy smooth gameplay with reduced lag on your PlayStation 5 console with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). With this feature, your PS5 console sends a signal to your TV when you’re playing, so you can get an even better gaming experience.
ALLM is only available on compatible TVs with HDMI 2.1 and might also be referred to as Game Mode in the TV’s settings. This feature won’t work when you’re using a Media App or watching TV, but your TV display should revert to its previous mode when you’re no longer gaming. You can turn ALLM off when Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is not enabled.
