Frequently asked questions

PlayStation Plus now has three subscription plans with tiered pricing and features, letting you choose the plan that matches the way you play.

The PlayStation Plus features you know – like online multiplayer, monthly games and exclusive discounts – now make up the PlayStation Plus Essential membership plan. We’ve added a Game Catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games to download as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra plan, while PlayStation Plus Deluxe gives you the Classics Catalogue and limited-time trials for a selection of new games from PlayStation Store.

You can purchase a new subscription that will start when your existing plan ends – so if you’re eligible for an unmissable deal on a PlayStation Plus membership, you can take advantage of the special price and keep your membership active for longer. The new membership period will begin as soon as your current plan ends.

To upgrade your membership plan to PlayStation Plus Extra or Deluxe, you just need to purchase a membership at that level. You will pay a pro-rated fee to bring your payments to the level of your new plan for the remainder of the paid membership period.

To change from your current plan to a lower tier plan, sign-in to the account settings page for your account for PlayStation Network and choose the Subscriptions tab to manage your PlayStation Plus membership plan. Your membership will continue on a lower tier plan after the next payment date.

Yes, all supported game modes will be available to you as they would with any other version of that game. Certain older titles may no longer support online play.

Visit PlayStation Store on your console, on the web here or on the PlayStation app and choose ‘Redeem codes’ from the menu. To input the gift card number.

You can also add funds to your PlayStation Network wallet with a cash amount card and use those funds to purchase a membership.

Remember that recurring membership fees are charged automatically by default. This means your registered payment method will be charged until the membership is cancelled. You can cancel at any time. When cancelled, your membership will expire at the end of the period for which you’ve already paid. This will stop future payments of membership fees.

1Classics and Game Trials available only to Deluxe subscribers. Game library varies over time, country/region and plan. PlayStation Plus is subject to a recurring subscription fee taken automatically until cancellation. Terms apply: play.st/psplus-usageterms
