New weapons arrive in Destiny 2: Renegades

Heat weapons – new to Destiny 2 – use a heat-based mechanic when firing instead of traditional ammo reserves.  

Heat weapons are categorised in two archetypes: dynamic and balanced, and feature various stats that affect their performance. These stats include heat generated, cooling efficiency and vent speed.

  • Modified B-7 Pistol – Hand Cannon – Stasis – Dynamic Heat Weapon
  • All or Nothing - Pulse Rifle – Strand – Dynamic Heat Weapon  
  • M-17 “Fast Talker” - Submachine Gun – Stasis – Balanced Heat Weapon  
  • Compact Defender - Sidearm – Void – Dynamic Heat Weapon  
  • Uncivil Discourse - Special Ammo Hand Cannon – Arc – Dynamic Heat Weapon  
  • Refurbished A499 - Heavy Ammo Sniper Rifle – Kinetic – Disruption Weapon (Fires a single heavy-hitting round. Disintegrates targets upon impact.)  
  • Praxic Blade - Special Ammo Sword – Kinetic – Exotic  
  • Heirloom - Special Ammo Crossbow – Solar – Exotic

A new destination awaits: the mysterious planetoid of Kepler. Explore a lost human settlement and forgotten Fallen houses.

Push the limit of your Guardian’s capabilities and unlock the mysteries of Kepler with new destination abilities powered by the mysterious Anomaly. 

New foes

Two new enemy combatants have entered the fray. Cut down swarming masses of Vex drones known as Kobolds, and face diabolical hovering Fallen Corsairs, each intent on standing in the way of your success.

How new players can start playing The Edge of Fate

One step forward, and nothing will ever be the same. Here is how to start the adventure:

  1. Ensure The Edge of Fate is installed: navigate to Destiny 2 on your PS5 home screen, select Options, then Check for Updates.
  2. Once The Edge of Fate is installed and the game is started, select a class to create your character. 
  3. Complete the introductory quest 'A Guardian Rises'. 
  4. Navigate to The Portal in the homepage and select the Latest Expansion: The Edge of Fate campaign node from The Portal's main screen.
  5. Select from Solo, Fireteam, Pinnacle or Crucible groups to participate in the expansion's content.
  6. Select the difficulty level for the expansion. Legendary difficulty awards additional rewards per class per mission complete. 

At the start of The Edge of Fate, all players' Power will be reset to 10. The maximum gear Power for this season will be 200 Power, and more Power can be added on New Gear through Seasonal Bonus Power.

The Edge of Fate or Year of Prophecy pre-order items are available:

  • with Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome
