Celebrated PlayStation-exclusive JRPG Star Ocean: The Second Story celebrates its 25^th anniversary with a stunning 2.5D overhaul that fuses 2D pixel characters with 3D environments, like Square Enix’s highly praised Octopath Traveler II.

Play as a Claude C. Kenni, a young Federation officer transported to a mystical planet during a routine survey mission. There, he encounters a young girl who believes him to be the hero foretold of in an ancient prophecy.

In addition to the striking visual makeover, Star Ocean The Second Story R features new battle mechanics, full voice-overs in both English and Japanese, the choice of original and re-arranged music from composer Motoi Sakuraba, and quality-of-life features such as fast travel and three difficulty modes. This is the definitive version of an all-time classic that will both delight long-time fans and welcome first-time players.

Dual protagonists

Choose to play as either Claude or Rena. Your choice affects your perspective of the story’s events and the allies you can recruit. Build relationships with party members via the unique Private Actions system, which also influences dozens of possible endings.

Explosive combat

A revitalised combat system gives you new ways to strategically battle your enemies. Deal continuous damage to ‘Break’ a foe, then order your allies to deploy a devastating Assault Action.

Find your Speciality

Unlock Specialities to grant your party access to a variety of skills including Cooking, Art, Metalcraft and many more. Each Speciality allows you to craft unique items and equipment with the enhanced Item Creation system.
