Average power consumption measurements for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 games console models sold since 2015 are provided below, based on randomly selected samples of consoles (five samples per model, European SKU). Note that power consumption measurements may show some statistical variation depending on the console sample, game, gaming activity, and media selected. Automatic Power Down
This statement is provided in accordance with the European Union Self-Regulatory Initiative to further improve the energy efficiency of Games Consoles (recognised under COM(2015) 178 final report of the European Commission)
PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 have automatic power-down settings enabled by default, so that your device will power down to standby mode after the following periods of inactivity:
Automatic power-down could help save energy by reducing the amount of time your Games Console remains on, but not in use.

Within the EU producers have responsibility for financing and organising end-of-life collection and recycling of electrical & electronic equipment, batteries, and packaging. Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe finance and participate in a number of nationally organised recycling schemes. To ensure correct waste treatment and recycling, please dispose of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 via an authorised collection facility, in accordance with any applicable laws or requirements. Waste electrical products and batteries may also be disposed of free of charge via retailers when buying a new products of the same type. Furthermore, within EU countries larger retailers may accept small waste electronic products free of charge. Please ask your local retailer if this service is available for the products you wish to dispose of. In so doing, you will help to conserve natural resources and improve standards of environmental protection in treatment and disposal of electrical waste.

Removal and replacement of components, applicable to Games consoles, in accordance with Article 15 and Annex VII of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and the materials efficiency requirements in the Games Console Voluntary Agreement, is possible using commercially available tools.
Diagnostics for repair must be undertaken by authorised repairers using a proprietary interface.
Spare parts are only available to authorised repair or refurbishment centres.
An out-of-warranty refurbishment or repair service (where applicable) is available for consoles.
Networked standby and standby power consumption
This statement is provided in accordance with EU Regulation 801/2013.
The PlayStation®3, PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 systems include features that allow you to activate and access content on your system remotely using a mobile device, PC, a handheld PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) or PlayStation®Vita system (with your PS3™) or a PS Vita system (with your PS4™). To maintain a network connection that can respond to network signals while “powered-down”, your PS3™, PS4™ or PS5™ system must be powered-down to a “networked standby mode”.
Using networked standby modes
