You can purchase a new membership that will start when your existing plan ends – so if you’re eligible for an unmissable deal on a PlayStation Plus membership, you can take advantage of the special price and keep your membership active for longer. The new membership period will begin as soon as your current plan ends.
To upgrade your membership plan to PlayStation Plus Extra or Deluxe, you just need to purchase a membership at that level. You will pay a pro-rated fee to bring your payments to the level of your new plan for the remainder of the paid membership period.

PlayStation Plus now has three membership plans with tiered pricing and features, letting you choose a plan that contains the features and games you want.
The PlayStation Plus features you know – like online multiplayer, monthly games and exclusive discounts – now make up the PlayStation Plus Essential membership plan. We’ve added a Game Catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games to download as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra plan, while PlayStation Plus Deluxe gives you the Classics Catalogue and time-limited trials for a selection of new games from PlayStation Store.
PlayStation Now has merged with PlayStation Plus, and features of PlayStation Now including a game library of hundreds of games to download, are now part of the new PlayStation Plus service.
If you were previously a PlayStation Now subscriber, you will be migrated into the new PlayStation Plus Deluxe Plan, retaining access to all of the features and benefits you paid for with your PlayStation Now subscription. If you were previously subscribed to both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, you will now have a single membership with a recurring payment date and price for your PlayStation Plus Deluxe membership.
For the majority of games that you have purchased on disc or downloaded from PlayStation Store, you need a PlayStation Plus membership plan to play online.
Most free to play games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone do not require a membership.
Yes, for as long as you remain an active subscriber. Some games in the Game Catalogue and Classics Catalogue will have end dates when they leave the service, which will be publicised ahead of time.
PlayStation Plus subscribers can take advantage of exclusive discounts on a wide range of games from PlayStation Store, and often can enjoy extra savings on top of already discounted titles.
To downgrade your PlayStation Plus membership plan:
When you downgrade your membership level, the downgrade will take place at the end of your existing pre-paid (stacked) subscription period, and you will lose access to the benefits exclusive to your previous subscription level at that time.

The PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now voucher you redeem will be converted to a length of time on your current PlayStation Plus membership plan equivalent to the monetary value of the voucher you are redeeming. For example, a 1-month PlayStation Plus voucher will provide access to approximately 3 weeks of PlayStation Plus Extra or approximately 2.5 weeks of PlayStation Plus Deluxe.
