How to use a credit or debit card on PlayStation TV

This article explains how to use your PS TV to add wallet funds with a credit or debit card or add card details with or without making a purchase.

Note:

Funds added to your wallet cannot be refunded to your credit or debit card in line with the PlayStation Store Cancellation Policy.

How do I use a credit or debit card to top up my wallet?

If you have a master account you can use any of the credit or debit cards shown above to top up your Sony Entertainment Network account wallet and make purchases from PlayStation Store on the following devices:

  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 3
  • PS Vita
  • PS TV
  • PS App
  • web browser

Sub accounts do not have a wallet attached to them so credit or debit cards cannot be used with these types of account.

Your payment details are stored on our secure servers after you use your credit or debit card to make a purchase, so you won't need to enter the information again when you make your next purchase. You can store up to three cards on your account and choose a default or select the card you want to use each time you make a purchase.

Your card can be used to top up your wallet in the following ways:

If you have a master account you can use any of the credit or debit cards shown above. Sub accounts do not have a wallet attached so credit or debit cards cannot be used with these types of account.

If you add or update your card on PlayStation Vita/PlayStation TV this card becomes your default payment method. If you have a PayPal account linked it will be deleted from your SEN account and there is no warning message displayed if this happens.

How do I use my credit or debit card to add wallet funds while making a PlayStation Store purchase?

  1. Go to [PlayStation Store] and choose the products you want to purchase by tapping [Buy Now] on the product detail page.
  2. You will be automatically asked how you want to top up your wallet if you do not have enough wallet funds.
  3. Tap [Credit Card] and enter your card information if it is not already saved on your account.
  4. Choose [Funding Amount] > [Next] > [Add Funds].

How do I use my credit or debit card to add wallet funds without making a purchase?

  1. Go to [PlayStation Store] > [Options] > [Transaction Management].
  2. Enter your password
  3. Select [Credit Card] and enter your card information if it is not already saved on your account.
  4. Choose [Funding Amount] > [Next] > [Add Funds].

How do I update the card details on my account?

  1. Go to [PlayStation Store] > [Options] > [Transaction Management] > [Billing Information].
  2. Enter your password.
  3. Enter your credit or debit card information and your billing address and select 'Confirm'.
