Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End becomes fastest-selling PlayStation®4 first party title

23 May 2016 – Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) today announces Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has set a new record for first party titles, selling more than 2.7 million copies[1] globally in the first week of release. Created exclusively for the PlayStation®4, the game was released on 10 May 2016 and has received an amazing reception from PlayStation®4 gamers across the world in the short time it’s been available to play. The outstanding sales figures mean Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End holds the record for the fastest-selling PlayStation®4 first party title of all time[2].

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End follows series protagonist Nathan Drake on his final quest, despite retiring from fortune hunting after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Drake is reunited with his older brother Sam and longtime partner Sully and together they embark on an epic adventure around the globe, through jungle isles, bustling cities and snow-capped peaks in search of Captain Henry Avery's long-lost treasure, only to discover every treasure has its price.

“It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly two weeks since we officially released Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on PS4. It’s one of the most beautifully crafted games I’ve ever played, and the great reception we’ve seen from the community has been amazing and humbling,” said Chris Weatherhead, Director, First Party Marketing, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe. “Naughty Dog’s exceptionally talented team has created magic once again, carefully constructing an adrenaline-pumping, thrilling, and beautifully written culmination to Nathan Drake’s adventures. The success of the game in the first week alone, including the millions of fans who’ve already joined us on Nathan Drake’s final adventure, is testament to the caliber of the team at Naughty Dog.”
