PlayStation Store on your PS4
- Go to [PlayStation Store] and scroll down to [PlayStation Plus] in the side menu.
If you have an existing PlayStation Plus membership, this will transfer to any new PlayStation system (including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita) when you sign in with your SEN account.
If you are over 18 you need a SEN master account and an accepted payment method to link to your account for automatic renewal (credit or debit card).
If you are under 18 you need a sub account and a non-renewing voucher code (check the terms of your voucher code to make sure you can renew it on your account).
* A sub account can only use a non-renewing voucher code to subscribe. Please see ‘How to purchase a subscription’ below for more details
A master account can use wallet funds to purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription. For your convenience, when you subscribe we will usually switch on the wallet function 'Automatically add funds to renew subscriptions or Pay for Pre-ordered Content'. This is so your membership can automatically renew, even when you do not have enough wallet funds, subject to the requirements listed on this page.
Sub account holders can also join PlayStation Plus, but the way they can purchase membership is limited because these accounts are specifically for younger SEN users. Sub accounts can only spend funds from the master account wallet (subject to PEGI and BBFC ratings and monthly spending limits set by the master account holder - you can find out more about parental controls here).
Sub account holders do not have a wallet attached to their account and cannot link a credit or debit card to their account for their subscription to automatically renew. This means that a sub account can only purchase a non-renewing subscription with a voucher code.
The sub account holder will need to purchase a new subscription when they need to renew. If the sub account holder redeems a PlayStation Plus voucher code on their account before the end of their current subscription, the new subscription will only begin when the old subscription expires. For example, if they buy two 3 month subscriptions, this will total six months of PlayStation Plus membership.
You will receive a purchase confirmation email when you subscribe, which like all important account information, will be sent to the address you use as your sign in ID. If you do not have access to this email address you can learn how to change your Sign-in ID here.
You will find also find a record in [Services List] on your PlayStation system or in [Media] > [Games] in Account Management on PC. The associated master account can also view sub account transactions to check any purchases made.
Note: Funds in your PSN wallet will be used when you purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription. You’ll need to either have funds ready to spend or a linked payment method (you can link a payment method during purchase).
For your convenience, when you subscribe we will usually switch on the wallet function 'Automatically add funds to renew subscriptions or Pay for Pre-ordered Content'. This is so your membership can automatically renew, even when you do not have enough wallet funds, subject to the requirements listed on this page.
Subscribing with a PSN sub account
If you have a PSN sub account you can join PlayStation Plus, but you can only buy membership with a non-renewing voucher code. Read the terms of the voucher code carefully before you redeem it make sure it is a non-renewing membership.
This is because a credit or debit card for automatic subscription renewal can’t be linked to a sub account.
There are a few ways to manage your PlayStation Plus subscription:
PlayStation Plus Hub on PS4
PlayStation Subscriptions on PS4
Purchase Confirmation Email
On your PS4 go to [PlayStation Plus] > [Manage Membership] > [Subscription].
Go to [Settings] > [PlayStation Network/Account Management] > [Account Information] > [PlayStation Subscriptions] > [PlayStation Plus] on your PS4.
Check the email you received an email from PlayStation Network with the subject 'Thank You For Your Purchase' to find out how long you have left on your subscription.
If the price of your subscription rises, you will be notified by an email sent to the address used as your Sign-in ID to give you enough time to cancel your subscription renewal.
