How to manually deactivate a PlayStation System

How to deactivate a primary PS4

A PS4 that has temporary activation will automatically deactivate when you sign out of PSN. To deactivate a Primary PS4, follow these steps:

  1. On your PS4 system, sign in to the relevant account.
  2. Go to [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4].
  3. Select [Deactivate] > [Yes].

Your device is now deactivated and you can activate another PS4 as your primary.
