What devices are supported on PlayStation™Vue?

You can enjoy PlayStation™Vue on a variety of devices, including:

  • PlayStation®4 consoles
  • PlayStation®3 consoles
  • Roku® Players and TVs (firmware 7.7 and up) -- read more about PlayStation™Vue software versions on supported Roku Players and TVs
  • Amazon Fire TV (all gens)

Mobile and Web

  • PlayStation™Vue on mobile devices and on the web at follows mobile streaming rights, with different programming availability rules than on TV-connect devices.
  • The same blackout rules apply on a supported mobile phone, tablet, and computer browser as they do on PlayStation™Vue on a TV-connected device.

Apple TV® and Roku® Players and TVs: If you have an Apple TV® or Roku® Player or TV, you will need to activate the device. Learn more about device activation for Apple TV® and Roku® players.

Subscription management:  You cannot subscribe to PlayStation™Vue or manage your subscription through Roku® Players and TVs, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, or through the PlayStation™Vue mobile app. You can sign up for PlayStation™Vue or manage your subscription on the web at, or on a PS4™ or PS3™ console. How do I set up my device to use PlayStation™Vue?

To set up your device on PlayStation™Vue, first you’ll need an active subscription to PlayStation™Vue. As part of purchasing a subscription to PlayStation™Vue, you will need to create a PlayStation™Network account (if you don’t already have one).

Once you have a subscription to PS Vue, you’ll need the PS Vue app on your device, and then you’ll need to sign in with your PlayStation Network account and – if you haven’t already done so - create your first profile (note – Apple TV® and Roku® Player or TV require activation by a code). I have an Apple TV™ or Roku® Player or TV; the screen says I need to activate the device. What does that mean?

If you are using PlayStation™Vue for the first time on Apple TV® or a Roku® Player or TV, you will need to activate the device with your PlayStation™Vue subscription.

Activating the device just means taking a code you see on the PlayStation™Vue screen on an Apple TV® or a Roku® Player or TV and entering it at To access, sign in with your PSN account. You’ll need to already have a subscription on PlayStation™Vue.

* One free trial per customer is available for the Elite plan, Core plan, Access plan, add-on channel, and and each standalone channel subscription. The Ultra plan does not have a free trial. Free trials can be enjoyed immediately after signing up for a subscription and can be cancelled at any time during the free trial period. A credit card is required to redeem your free trial. You will not be charged for your multi-channel plan or individual channel subscription during the free trial period. To avoid being charged for your subscription, you must cancel before the end of the free trial period. If you do not cancel before the end of the last day of the trial, you automatically begin your monthly subscription, and you will be charged a monthly fee every 30 days based on your chosen plan until you cancel. If you cancel your multi-channel plan subscription, your add-on channel subscription will also be cancelled. To cancel:  on PS4™ and PS3™ consoles go to ‘Settings” in the PlayStation™Vue app, select ‘Subscription’, ad click ‘Unsubscribe; or login to  and click ‘Cancel Subscription’ under ‘Subscription Summary’; or call 877.883.7669. There are no penalties for cancellation and you may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, you will still have access for the rest of the month already paid for.

How do I get the latest version of PlayStation™Vue on my Roku® player?

PlayStation™Vue is compatible on Roku® Players and TVs with firmware 7.7 and up, in two different software versions:  PlayStation™Vue 1.7 and PlayStation™Vue 2.3. The version of PlayStation™Vue available to you depends on your Roku® Player or TV model and the Roku firmware version on that device.

PlayStation™Vue version 2.3 for Roku Players and TVs is currently available for the following device models running Roku firmware 8.0 and up:

  • Roku 4
  • Roku 3
  • Roku 2
  • Roku Express/+
  • Roku TV (non-4K, 4K, and 4K HDR)
  • Roku Premiere /+
  • Roku Ultra
  • Roku Streaming Stick /+ (latest gen)

Firmware versions under 8.0 on the above devices and all other Roku® Players and TVs will run PlayStation™Vue version 1.7.

To check the version of PlayStation™Vue on your Roku® Player or TV, highlight the app icon on your Roku® Player or TV and press the * button.

If you have Roku firmware version 8.0 on one of the devices above and want to check for any available PlayStation™Vue updates, perform the following steps:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll up or down and select Settings
  3. Select “System”
  4. Select System update”
  5. Select “Check Now” to manually check for updates

How many devices can I stream PlayStation™Vue on at once?

A single PlayStation™Vue account can simultaneously stream PlayStation™Vue on up to five devices at a given time. The number of streams supported on specific devices will vary based on the following rules:

  • When you first subscribe, you’ll have access to three simultaneous streams, both in-home and out-of-home. After you set your home device, you’ll receive two additional streams to use in-home, for a total of up to five simultaneous streams in-home, within the guidelines below. Note:  you can only have one home device set at a time. You can set or change your home device up to three times.
  • Whether or not you set your home device, you can stream on three devices out-of-home.
  • Only one PS4™ console and two PS3™ consoles can be used at a given time (i.e. you cannot stream PS Vue on two PS4™ consoles at any given time, but one PS4™ system and one PS3™ console can be used at the same time).
  • Mobile devices, like supported iOS, Android, and web browser on a computer can be used for up to three simultaneous mobile streams. Note: 
  • Other supported devices like Amazon Fire TV, Roku® players, Apple TV®, and Android TV can also be used for simultaneous streams within the limit of five streams total.
  • If you reach a streaming limit, sign out of PlayStation™Vue on one of your devices, wait five minutes, and then sign in on the new device.

What do the buttons on my remote do?

Why am I seeing channels as mobile-restricted on my mobile device?

Some channels or programs are not available through PlayStation™Vue on mobile devices or the computer web player due to streaming rights and your location. These channels will be marked as such with a “Mobile Restricted” badge.

Note: The same blackout rules apply on a supported mobile phone, tablet, and computer browser as they do on PlayStation™Vue on a TV-connected device.

I’m having trouble casting PlayStation™Vue. What should I do?

If you’re running into issues casting PlayStation™Vue to your television, please ensure the following:

  • Both your mobile device and Chromecast-capable device are currently connected to the same wireless network
  • You’ve connected your mobile device to your casting device by selecting the “Cast” icon in the top right of PlayStation™Vue
  • If you continue having trouble, please quit and restart PlayStation™Vue and reset your Chromecast device.

I’m on a Roku® Player or TV and I can’t access Cartoon Network live. What should I do?

We can help! First, determine the PlayStation™Vue software version your Roku Player or TV is running. To check the version of PlayStation™Vue on your Roku® Player or TV, highlight the app icon on your Roku® Player or TV and press the * button. Then, follow the instruction below for your software version:

  • Roku Players or TVs running PlayStation™Vue software version 2.3:  Adult Swim programming can be found Live in the Cartoon Network channel on the guide.
  • Roku Players or TVs running PlayStation™Vue software version 1.7:  Go to the Cartoon Network tile and press the * button on the Roku remote, then select the option to “Play Live”.
