What is PlayStation Vue?

PlayStation™Vue is a TV service available across all 50 United States that streams live TV, movies, and sports without a cable or satellite subscription on a variety of TV-connected and mobile devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV®, Roku® players, Android TV, a desktop web browser, mobile devices, PlayStation®4 consoles, and PlayStation®3 consoles. PlayStation Vue offers a powerful in and out-of-home DVR with lots of storage and no recording conflicts, multiple profiles, On Demand programming, and premium channels that can be purchased individually or with a multi-channel plan. PlayStation Vue does not require a PlayStation® console, and there are no annual contracts.

There are no additional fees, hidden fees or charges (i.e. no HD fees, equipment fees, installation fees, or local sports fees etc.) All pricing is presented to you at checkout prior to purchase, so what you see is what you pay.

Does PlayStation Vue have DVR and On Demand programming?

Yes! PlayStation Vue has a powerful DVR with lots of storage space and no recording conflicts, along with tons of great On Demand shows and movies. Just add your favorite shows to My Shows,* and all upcoming airings of episodes for that show will be automatically saved for up to 28 days after they air. In addition, all On Demand programming for that show will also be available in My Shows. On Demand content added to My Shows will be saved for varying amounts of time. Programming saved to DVR in “My Shows” can be watched in and out of your home network.

You may select any show or channel to have access to all available programming, whether it’s available through DVR, Catch Up, or On-Demand.

Do I need a PlayStation® console to use PlayStation™Vue?

You don’t need a PlayStation® console to enjoy PlayStation™Vue! You can enjoy PlayStation™Vue on a variety of devices, including Roku® players, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV®, Android TV, a web browser, Google Chromecast, and on iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices.

Can I set up family members on my account?

Yes! You can create up to ten different profiles on a PlayStation™Vue account. Each profile will have its own personalized DVR, Favorite Channels, and tailored recommendations.

You can select a profile at app launch, or toggle between them from Settings in the app.

After you create your first primary profile, you can create nine more sub-profiles. You can set up these additional profiles on the web from a desktop computer at psvue.com/watch, or on the PlayStation™Vue app on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, or a PS4™ or PS3™ console. To manage your profile or add a profile on these devices, visit Settings.

Does PlayStation™Vue include commercials?

PlayStation™Vue airs many of the same live TV channels available on cable and satellite services, so commercials will be included. Any airing recorded to DVR will have no restrictions on fast forwarding. You will not be able to fast forward through commercials within Catch-up or while watching On Demand programming.

What is the video quality on PlayStation™Vue? How much internet bandwidth do I need?

Video quality
All high definition content will be available in HD with adaptive bitrate streaming, so you will see the highest resolution your broadband allows.

Internet bandwidth requirements
10mbps or higher is recommended for the best experience, plus 5mbps for each additional stream.

PlayStation™Vue requires a high-speed Internet connection, and depends on a static location. A temporary Internet connection or hotspot connection should not be used with PlayStation™Vue. Hotspots often interfere with these requirements and can restrict access to PlayStation™Vue.

Do any shows get “blacked out”?

As a TV service provider, PlayStation Vue must adhere to specific restrictions that are occasionally contracted between studios, sports leagues and channels. PlayStation Vue is sometimes not able to show certain movies, sporting events, and TV shows because these restrictions do not permit (and therefore “black out”) the transmission of certain shows over the internet.

Sports Blackouts and National Rights
Rightsholders do not permit sports content to be transmitted in some areas. Therefore, in some areas, some TV programming is blacked out for all TV and cable services. If a national broadcasting network such as FOX, NBC or CBS has national rights to broadcast a sporting event, the broadcast of that event may be restricted in certain local markets.

Sports Blackouts and Local Rights
Rightsholders do not permit sports content to be transmitted in some areas. Therefore, in some areas, some TV is blacked out for all TV and cable services. If a regional sports network that PlayStation Vue carries has local rights to broadcast a game -- and if you live within the region -- you can receive that game through your PlayStation™Vue subscription, because it includes your local regional sports network(s). If you are outside of the region for a particular team, you may receive alternate programming during the time of a live event.

Can I try PlayStation™Vue for free?

Yes, you can try PlayStation™Vue for free! One 5-day free trial per customer is available for a multi-channel plan or add-on channel, and one 7-day free trial per customer is available for each standalone channel subscription. Free trials can be enjoyed immediately after signing up for a subscription and can be cancelled at any time during the free trial period. A credit card is required to redeem your free trial. You will not be charged for your multi-channel plan or individual channel subscription during the free trial period. To avoid being charged for your subscription, you must cancel before the end of the free trial period. If you do not cancel before the end of the last day of the trial, you automatically begin your monthly subscription, and you will be charged a monthly fee every 30 days based on your chosen plan until you cancel. If you cancel your multi-channel plan subscription, your add-on channel subscription will also be cancelled. To cancel: On PS4™ and PS3™ consoles go to ‘Settings” in the PlayStation Vue app, select ‘Subscription’, and click ‘Unsubscribe; or log in to psvue.com/subscription and click ‘Cancel Subscription’ under ‘Subscription Summary’; or call 877.883.7669. There are no penalties for cancellation and you may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, you will still have access for the rest of the month already paid for.
