SOCOM COMMERCE SERVICES (“SCS”)
TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT AND INDICATE WHETHER OR NOT YOU AGREE TO ITS TERMS BY CLICKING THE "ACCEPT" OR "DECLINE" BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS SCREEN. IF YOU CLICK THE "DECLINE" BUTTON YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE SOCOM COMMERCE SERVICES. CHECK WITH SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA INC. (“SCEA”) CONSUMER SERVICES AT 877-971-7669 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
This Agreement can be accepted only by an adult 18 years or older. By clicking the "ACCEPT" button, you affirm that you are an adult 18 years or older and you are accepting this Agreement.
The SCS gives you the opportunity to use a valid credit card to create a SCS verified account with SCEA and to purchase virtual products to use with SOCOM 3 and SOCOM Combined Assault.
Please note that you do not have to buy in-game items to play SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault. Feel free to play and enjoy the online gaming experience without accessing these additional features.
A USB Mass Storage device or internal hard disk drive (40GB) (for PlayStation®2) (sold separately) is required to store any in-game item that you purchase and download. For more details, go to the SOCOM Online Community, Help, FAQ’s, DOWNLOAD/STORAGE FAQs. If you would like to confirm that your storage device is compatible and will store a SOCOM in-game item, please download the item at no cost and use it in spectator mode or LAN mode prior to purchasing it. If you are able to successfully download the item and use it in spectator mode or LAN mode, you will be able to use the online-enabled product after purchase.
Purchases are non-refundable. All sales are final. All transactions are made in US Dollars. Prices, items offered for sale and services are subject to change at any time. Prices include all applicable sales tax. All sales are subject to the laws of the State of California, County of San Mateo.
If you have not yet created a verified account (described below), purchasing an in-game item will automatically create a verified account in your name. If you have already created a verified account, no new account will be created.
If you would like to purchase an in-game item, go to the main menu and select “SOCOM Store”. You will be given a list of available purchase options. Click on the item that you would like to purchase. The next screen provides the price, a description and other details about the item that you have selected. If you choose to purchase the selected item, you will then be asked to provide your name, billing address, credit card type, credit card number and credit card expiration date. You will be given the option to review the details of your purchase and confirm that you would like to proceed with the transaction. If you press the “Purchase” button, your credit card will be charged the amount indicated. The “Purchase Result” screen will confirm that your transaction has gone through. You will also be sent an email that provides details about the transaction. Your credit card number will then be purged from our servers within 90 days of account setup.
If the transaction has been successfully processed, the item that you have chosen to purchase will now be enabled and available for use. Once an in-game item has been purchased, it is available for download and play as long as SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault online is active. Pursuant to the User Agreement, SCEA reserves the right to retire the online portions of SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault with 90 days notice.
If you purchase an in-game item, SCEA grants you a non-exclusive right to use this in-game item for use on your PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system while playing SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault online. All intellectual property rights in the content available on this site belong to SCEA or its licensors and use of this contract shall be subject to all copyright laws. You may not (i) rent, lease or sublicense the content or its application, (ii) modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the content or its application, (iii) attempt to create the source code from the object code for the content or its application, or (iv) download game content for any purpose other than game play. The content and its application are not for resale.
No warranty is given about the quality, functionality, availability or performance of the content or this site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCEA excludes all liability for any loss of data, damage caused to your software or hardware, and any other loss or damage suffered by you or any third party, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential and however arising, as a result of downloading content to your PlayStation 2 system.
If SCEA determines that you have violated the terms of the SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault User Agreements and bans your account from online play, you will neither be able to use your purchased in-game items nor play online (except in a LAN environment). You will not receive a refund for purchased items if you are unable to use them because your account has been blocked. See the SOCOM 3 or SOCOM Combined Assault User Agreements for more information.
Information regarding your SOCOM Online user ID and password can be saved on a memory card for easy future logins. As the information contained on the memory card provides direct access to your gaming account without requiring your user ID or password, be sure to keep this card safe and inaccessible to anyone who should not have direct access to your account. You agree that SCEA has no liability for any unauthorized use of your memory card.

Your credit card will not be charged during the account verification process. Gamers who create a SCS verified account receive benefits such as: the ability to join or start ranked games, access to ranked briefing rooms, the ability to create or join a clan or friends list, stat tracking, and automatic enrollment in the PlayStation Underground.
You may choose to set up your verified account at any time. When you sign up for a verified account, you are automatically enrolled in the PlayStation Underground. Enrollment in the PlayStation Underground enables you to receive information and updates about PlayStation products, online gaming and other special benefits. After you sign up for a verified account, you will be sent an email confirming your account. Soon afterwards, new PlayStation Underground Members will receive a “Welcome” email confirming your Underground membership and giving you the opportunity to opt out of the program.
If you are already a member of the PlayStation Underground, you will not receive a “Welcome” email. Keep in mind that the information that you provide during SOCOM account verification will be added to your existing PlayStation Underground profile. Feel free to access your PlayStation Underground account and preferences athttps://secureus.playstation.com/MyAccount/Profile.aspx.

All information will be collected and stored by SCEA’s secure servers. Your credit card number will then be purged from our servers within 90 days of account setup.
SCEA reserves the right to deny verification of anyone’s account at its discretion and for any reason. If you receive an error message, we suggest that you confirm that you entered all of the requested information accurately and try again with another credit card.
SCEA, at its sole discretion, may modify the terms of this Agreement at any time. By accepting this Agreement and by playing the game online, you agree to be bound by all current terms of the Agreement. If you violate this Agreement in any manner, SCEA may, at its discretion, and without notice to you temporarily or permanently block your SCS account. In appropriate cases, SCEA may bring legal action against you and/or cooperate in any government or private legal action or investigation relating to your conduct. To report violations of this Agreement or to inquire about a blocked account, call SCEA Consumer Services at 1-877-971-7669. SCEA has no liability for any violation of this Agreement by you or by any other player.
This Agreement shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California applying to contracts fully executed and performed within the State of California. Both parties submit to personal jurisdiction in California and further agree that any dispute arising from or relating to this Agreement shall be brought in a court within San Mateo County, California.
